1 ANNOUNCEMENT: COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FROM ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF SAN ANTONIO $3,000 Scholarships are available to students entering their Junior or Senior year in a four year college or university in Bexar County, Texas Requirements of Applicant: Must enroll for a minimum of 12 hours of credit at a 4 year college or university in Bexar County Must have completed a minimum of 60 hours of college credit Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Applications must include: Completed Assistance League application--this may be obtained from your school financial aid office or at Biographical letter of no more than one typed page should include: personal information you choose to share about your family, background, financial need and educational goals Proof of enrollment or letter of acceptance from a four year college or university in Bexar County Minimum of three letters of recommendation--two should be from professors, one from other school personnel or employers, not from family members or personal friends Official undergraduate transcript, including most recent semester completed Statement of financial need must include a copy of current tax return All scholarship money is paid directly to the four year college or university in Bexar County which the students will attend. 2 ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF SAN ANTONIO 2016 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS In the spring of 2016, Assistance League of San Antonio will present $3000 scholarships to students who will be juniors or seniors at a college or university in Bexar County. The intent of these needs-based awards is to assist the students in finishing their education. Assistance League intends to award 7 scholarships, including one given by the Bexar Hugs Auxiliary. These scholarships will be paid directly to the school where the student attends and can be used for tuition, fees and books. For eligibility to apply for a scholarship, a student must be enrolled full time (12 hours or more), entering his/her junior or senior year at a four year college or university in Bexar County, Texas. Applications must include: Completed Assistance League application this may be obtained from your school financial aid office or downloaded from the Assistance League website: Biographical letter of no more than one typed page to include: personal information you choose to share about your family or background and educational goals Proof of acceptance or enrollment from a four-year college or university in Bexar County and date you will be attending Minimum of three letters of recommendations two should be from professors, one from other school personnel or employers. No recommendations from family or personal friends will be accepted Official undergraduate transcript, including most recent semester completed A copy of current tax return Information contained in the application remains confidential.
