Positives of Security Apps Almost everyone has a cell phone, or tablet so they could download that campus security app. Students can take security into their own hands without having to arm themselves with a gun or other weapon. It is a more discreet way for the students and staff to have security on campus. The app would give you an update though your cell that there is a threat on campus. It would cost less than having other personal security protect. Campus Sentinel and Campus Safe is a free app made for IPhone, IPad, Android cell phones and others. There are many other apps to choose from for different phones and tablets for campuses
The Negatives of Campus Security Apps The app would need Wi-Fi at all times to access the information. But this should not be a large problem being in the 21 st century. Not all of the apps are compatible with every cell phone. Although there maybe a similar version. For the few people who don t have a cell phone or tablet it would be useless.

Conclusion: These are some of the reasons to promote security apps on campuses. Just little adjustments can still keep schools prepared for disasters. RCCC could have something like Virginia Tech at any moment. These security apps could make campus safer.
