ARTICULATION AGREEMENT Between The Faculty of Business Administration at Yorkville University (YU), a private university designated under the New Brunswick Degree Granting Act to offer university degrees And The Fashion s, at RCC Institute of Technology (RCC), a Private Career College authorized by the Province of Ontario to offer certificate, diploma, and degree programs across a variety of specializations and disciplines HEREINAFTER referred to as the Parties. WHEREAS both Parties agree that an academic partnership that creates seamless pathways from diploma to degree completion is beneficial to their current and future students; WHEREAS both Parties are committed to providing high quality academic programs that serve to advance the academic and professional goals of their students; and WHEREAS both Parties offer post- secondary education programs recognized and approved by their respective provinces; THEREFORE the Parties agree to establish formal articulated pathways for graduates of RCC Institute of Technology, Fashion diploma programs to complete their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Yorkville University. RCC diploma holders will be admitted to and given credits toward the Yorkville BBA program in accordance with the details outlined below. 1. Project Background The BBA program at Yorkville University was designated by Order- in- Council under the New Brunswick Degree Granting Act in May 2012 and offered its first classes in October 2012. The program was approved as a degree completion opportunity for individuals who wish to build upon their prior academic credentials and earn an undergraduate degree. RCC Institute of Technology is authorized under Ontario s Private Career College Act (2004) to offer diploma programs in fashion which fit the criteria for transfer to the YU BBA program:. 2. Project Summary This Agreement formalizes the articulation of RCC Fashion diplomas to the BBA program at YU. Students completing fashion diploma programs at RCC Institute of Technology who achieve the required academic standing will be able to easily transition into the BBA program at YU and will receive credit
toward their BBA for work completed at the RCC Institute of Technology. This continuance of study will allow them to work in their chosen field while continuing their studies and completing their undergraduate degree in a reasonable period of time. 3. s under consideration: This Agreement identifies the conditions under which students from the following RCC Institute of Technology fashion diploma programs can seamlessly transition into the YU BBA program: 3.1. Fashion Design Diploma, Academy of Design at RCC Institute of Technology 3.2. Fashion Marketing and Merchandising, Academy of Design at RCC Institute of Technology 4. Under this Articulation Agreement, Yorkville University agrees to: 4.1. Admit graduates from RCC Institute of Technology Fashion programs, who meet all eligibility criteria listed in this agreement and award those students 36 block transfer credits toward completion of the BBA and up to 12 additional transfer credits for specific courses that are equivalent to courses in the Yorkville BBA. To be eligible for admission and the award of block transfer credits, the RCC Institute of Technology graduate must have graduated with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4 or 4.3 scale). Providing students have been working in the field of study relevant to their diploma program, there will be no time limit applied to the ability to transfer their credits into the 36 block. To be eligible for award of credits for RCC Institute of Technology courses that are equivalent to courses in the Yorkville BBA, the courses will normally have been completed within 10 years of the date of admission to the BBA. 4.2. Collaborate with RCC Institute of Technology in the development and implementation of a marketing plan to promote the academic pathway options for RCC students. 4.3. Place RCC diploma holders who meet the academic standards set herein in high priority in the admissions process. 4.4. Review RCC curricula changes in a timely manner as required to ensure the integrity of this articulation. 5. Under this Articulation Agreement, RCC Institute of Technology agrees to: 5.1. Advise YU immediately of any changes to curricula of any of the academic programs encompassed within this agreement. 5.2. Collaborate with YU in the development and implementation of a marketing plan to promote the academic pathways for RCC students.
5.3. Promote the YU BBA pathway to RCC students, both current and alumni. 6. - by- Articulation Details The schedules appended to this document set out the details of the articulation between each RCC fashion diploma program and the YU BBA. 7. Duration and Cancellation Articulations between RCC Fashion programs and the YU BBA shall remain in effect for five (5) years or sixty (60) months following signature and endorsement by both parties and may be cancelled by either party by giving the other party at least one term s notice in writing of intention to cancel 8. No Agency Relationship In carrying out the responsibilities and obligations of this Agreement, neither party shall be acting as the agent or principal of the other with regard to dealings with third parties, including students.
