1 ARTICULATION AGREEMENT Between and This Agreement is effective as of the date of final signature below and shall be in effect for three (3) years or until earlier terminated by one of the parties. Either party may cancel this Agreement upon twenty (20) days advance written notice to the other party; provided, however, that any student who has already enrolled at Boise State University shall be entitled to the benefit of this Agreement. Regional Accreditation is regionally accredited by The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Professional Accreditation The Bachelor of Science Degree Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). The last accreditation site visit was May 6 and 7, 2013, followed by the Certificate of Accreditation on July 13, The Certificate of Accreditation is valid until July 31, Bachelor of Science Degree Curriculum The 120-credit Bachelor of Science Degree Curriculum satisfies all general education requirements (Foundation Studies Program) and all professional curricular requirements. The student may earn the Bachelor of Science Degree by completing all requirements in the four-year curriculum, or by completing all requirements in the Degree Completion Program. Regional Accreditation Local Community College is regionally accredited by The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). Professional Accreditation The Associate of Science Degree Program is accredited by the CoARC. The last accreditation was 2005 and the next accreditation visit will be due Associate of Science Degree Curriculum The 68-semester credit, Associate of Science Degree Curriculum satisfies all general education requirements and all professional curricular requirements.
2 Degree Completion Program The Degree Completion Program allows students to enroll in the Bachelor of Science Degree in Respiratory Care from once they have met the following criteria: Earned an Associate of Science, an Associate of Arts, or an Associate of Arts and Science in Respiratory Care, from a regionally accredited institution whose Respiratory Care Program is accredited by CoARC, Successfully completed at least 64 semester credit hours, Earned the credential Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Admitted to The Degree Completion Program is designed for Registered Respiratory Therapists who want to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Respiratory Care. The student is required to complete 30 credits (11 courses); each of the courses is available online. Because the student is required to be a Registered Respiratory Therapist as a pre-requisite for the program, there are no clinical courses in the Degree Completion Program. Courses are delivered via BlackBoard, which is a web-based, course-management system designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online. BlackBoard enables instructors to provide students with course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat, live audiovisual discussions, online quizzes, an academic resource center and more. Online courses typically are more time-intensive than typical face-to-face courses. Students will be required to do a significant amount of reading, online posting, writing of papers and other online activities; therefore, the student must be motivated and willing to allocate a considerable amount of time for each course. For this reason, it is not recommended that students working full-time take more than two or three courses per semester. Because graduates of (NSCC) earn an Associate of Science Degree and the students earn at least 64 credits, NSCC graduates will meet the first two admission requirements. Once the student has passed the necessary NBRC Examinations to earn the Registered Respiratory Therapist credential, and after being admitted to, the student may be admitted to the Degree Completion Program.
