Andrea Bocelli s Concert at Teatro del Silenzio Lajatico (Pisa) August 2nd Lajatico (in the province of Pisa) is the birthplace of Maestro Andrea Bocelli, honorary President of Teatro del Silenzio. In the wonderful scenery of the Tuscany countryside, this year, Teatro del Silenzio will celebrate the10th Anniversay with an exceptional perfomance. The grand Maestro Andrea Bocelli with the participation of the Coro da Camera and the Orchesta of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (80 and 70 elements respectively) will bring on stage the Turandot by Giacomo Puccini. The Opera will be carried out by one of the most important conductors worldwide: Zubin Mehta.

Festival Pucciniano Torre del Lago Puccini July August A deep love lasting over thirty years linked Giacomo Puccini to the charming hamlet of Torre del Lago (very close to Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Lucca and Pisa). When the great composer first arrived here, at the end of the 19th century, he was searching and he found in the Blue-Grey Waters of Massacciucoli Lake a picturesque and quiet place where his creative genius could spring out. Since 1930, The Puccini Festival is the only one in the world dedicated to the composer.

Terme di Caracalla Teatro dell Opera di Roma July Rome The Thermae Antoninianae (Baths of Caracalla) opened in 217 AD, during the reign of Emperor Caracalla, as the largest bath complex in the world. The baths were functional for over three hundred years. The red-brick ruins of the Baths of Caracalla are situated southeast of ancient Rome's center. The baths were enormous buildings, with huge frescoed vaults covering the massive rooms. This huge eleven hectare (27 acre) large complex housed bathing facilities that could accommodate more than 1,600 people at a time. Since 1937 this magic historical site has been hosting the Opera and Ballet summer season of Teatro dell Opera di Roma.

Luminara di San Ranieri June 16th Pisa In Pisa, June is called Giugno Pisano. All the mounth is dedicated to celebrate the long history and tradition of Pisa. The night between June 16th and the 17th all the town is darkened and lit just with Small Candles to pay homage the Patron Saint of Pisa, St. Ranieri. It results a breathtaking and romantic atmoshere to enjoy from the old palaces and hotels lying along Arno river boulevards. Luminara di San Ranieri has been candidated to become UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Palio di Siena July 2nd August 16th The Palio di Siena culminates with a Horse Race which takes place in the amazing oval medieval Piazza del Campo square twice each year. Ten horses and riders, bareback and dressed in the appropriate colours, represent ten of the 17 contrade, or city wards and fight to win the Palio. Actually the Palio is much more: an extraordinary folk and historical celebration, that completely Capsizes the town and the inhabitants of every age, education and status, who devote themselves to support their contrada, horses and jockeys all year long.
