8. Determination of winners 9. Winner notification and publication of results 10. Prizes (a) The entrants who rank first through to twentieth in the total number of points accumulated from the pre-selected races in the competition will win the First through to Twentieth Prizes respectively. These winners will be determined at 10am (AEST) on the day following the finish of the final race at the offices of The Great Tip Off (40 Lime Street, Sydney NSW 2000). (b) In the event of any two or more winners having the same number of points (ie a tie), prizes will be split. The following rules apply. * If the tied participants are both free participants (i.e. they do not have a current GTO Late Mail or Racenet Tip Sheet subscription at the time) or if the tied participants are both subscription participants (i.e. they both have a current GTO Late Mail or Racenet Tip Sheet subscription at the time their tips are first submitted) then the prize splitting process will be such that where there is a tie for any place (first place, second place etc) the prize for that place and prize for the next lower place will be combined, and each of the tied winners will receive an equal split of the combined prize. For example, where there is a tie between two winners for the First Prize, the First and Second Prizes will be combined (to total $575 in Free Bet) and each of the two winners will then receive half of the combined prize (ie $287.50 in Free Bet) and likewise for the cash component. * If one of the tied participants is a current GTO Late Mail or Racenet Tip Sheet subscriber and the other tied participant is not a current subscriber then: For the Free Bet component of the prize - the prize splitting process will be such that where there is a tie for any place (first place, second place etc) the prize for that place and prize for the next lower place will be combined, and each of the tied winners will receive an equal split of the combined prize. For the cash component - the prize amount will remain the same as advertised for that position. For example if there is a tie for First, where the prize is a $500 Free Bet and an additional $500 cash for subscribers, and if second prize is $75 in Free Bet and an additional $75 in cash for current subscribers and the tie is between a participant who is a subscriber and another who is not a subscriber, then the following prizes will be allocated: Subscriber - $500 cash and $287.50 Free Bet (half of the first plus second Free Bet prize) Non-subscriber = $287.50 Free Bet (c) To ensure there is no confusion, the prize splitting process only occurs for the component of the prize where both tied participants are eligible i.e. cash, Free Bet or both. (a) Each winner can claim their prize by clicking the PRIZE CLAIM button on the website where they are participating in the competition and then filling out their banking details for a deposit of the winnings into their nominated bank account. Deposits will be made within 14 days of claims being made. Winners will be notified in writing (via email) within 2 days of being determined in accordance with section 8 above.
