Human Resources The HR market in Ireland has seen a significant increase in permanent roles in 2013 compared to previous years. There are still steady requirements for Fixed Term and Temporary contracts, particularly in the Talent Acquisition and HR Project Management areas. HR roles have also seen a good geographical spread across the country with 30% of roles coming from outside the Dublin region. Due to the contraction of the industry over the last 5 years, we are now seeing high demand for Performance Driven professionals with expertise in Change Management, Organisational Design and Reward Management who can realign the HR strategy and re-engage employees. There has also been a focus on Compensation & Benefits as this enables affective retention management and succession planning. There has been an increased focus on Learning and Development specifically in the technical training sphere within Information Technology and Manufacturing which again reflects on retention and succession planning. In addition to this 2013 saw an increase in demand for professionals with HR information system knowledge in areas such as HRIS Implementations and HR Analytics. In particular there is a high demand for candidates with a mix of HR exposure and importantly strong client facing skills. This is an exciting period of development in the HR technology market and this is reflected in the growing need for a specialised niche workforce. Primary growth sectors for HR are within the Legal, Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Multilingual, IT and Marketing. Demand for specialised roles such as Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Reward Managers, HRIS Analysts and Technical Sourcers are on the increase while demand for HR Generalist and HR Business Partner roles has remained largely consistent. 2014 will continue to see a high level of competition between the top of the HR talent pool, however with more and more international businesses setting up in Ireland we feel there will be increased opportunities available across all levels. 1
