New in this release: Send Logs As of the Windows Sync 2.14 release you can now send logs to ShareFile support via the Send Logs control panel link. This is available in Control Panel > System and Security > ShareFile Sync. Take note of the machine name the logs were submitted from. This information will be needed to if you contact ShareFile Support for log review. This feature is designed to gather the logs on your behalf. Sending logs does not automatically open a support ticket. You must contact ShareFile support for further investigation. Bug Fixes Assorted bug fixes and quality improvements On-Demand Sync Installation and Configuration ShareFile On-Demand Sync can be installed via EXE or MSI. Both installation types can be downloaded from http://www.citrix.com/downloads/sharefile. EXE - Used for per-machine installation which will detect and install pre-requisites MSI - For administrators to perform a push install 1. Apply the On-Demand Sync computer policies and user policies via GPO 2. Ensure all sessions have been logged off from the XenApp or XenDesktop machines Note: SyncService.exe should not be stopped or restarted while sessions are active on the XenApp or XenDesktop machine 3. Logon to XenApp or XenDesktop machines as an Administrator 4. Install the ShareFile Sync for Windows client 5. Reboot the XenApp or XenDesktop machines

6. Configure profile management solution to exclude the "ShareFile" directory from the user's profile Verification of Successful Installation Once ShareFile Sync has been installed, and configured via Group Policy you can verify that the installation has been successful by doing the following: 1. Logon to StoreFront and launch the hosted application or desktop that you've configured for your users 2. Depending on the authentication type that you've configured for ShareFile Sync, you may or may not be prompted for credentials ShareFile Authentication - You will be prompted to enter your ShareFile username and password SAML Web Forms Authentication - You will be prompted for your email address and then you will be asked to authenticate against your Identity Provider (IDP) SAML Integrated Authentication (aka Single Sign On using AD Credentials) - You will not be prompted for credentials. The current logged on user's credentials will be passed to your IDP 3. Once you've successfully authenticated to ShareFile Sync, you will be able to access the ShareFile directory Adding sites to the Trusted Sites zone for On-Demand Sync SAML Forms Authentication

In order for SAML Forms Authentication to work correctly within the XenApp or XenDesktop session, a couple of sites must be added to the Trusted Sites zone for the user. You ll need to add *.sharefile.com and the URL that directs ShareFile to your XenMobile environment (in most cases this is the URL for the NetScaler). Method 1: Within your desktop session and if you have access to Internet Explorer, you can manually add the required URLs to the Trusted Sites zone via Internet Options > Security 1. Launch Internet Explorer within your desktop session 2. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security tab 3. Within the Trusted Sites zone, click on the Sites button 4. Add XenMobile URL that ShareFile will redirect to in order to authenticate a. In most cases, this will be the URL that leads to your NetScaler. For example, https://netscaler.acme.com 5. Add https://*.sharefile.com or https://*.sharefile.eu Method 2: Add the Trusted Sites to the HKCU hive of your users by configuring the registry via Group Policy Object 1. Configure the Group Policy to add *.sharefile.com to the Trusted Sites Action: Update Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Key Path: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\sharefile.com\* Value name: https Value type: REG_DWORD Value data: 00000002 2. Configure the Group Policy to add *.sharefile.com to the Trusted Sites Action: Update Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Key Path: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\ESCDomains\sharefile.com\* Value name: https Value type: REG_DWORD Value data: 00000002 3. Configure the Group Policy to add your XenMobile URL (e.g. https://netscaler.acme.com) to the Trusted Sites Action: Update Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Key Path: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\acme.com\netscaler Value name: https

Value type: REG_DWORD Value data: 00000002 4. Configure the Group Policy to add your XenMobile URL (e.g. https://netscaler.acme.com) to the Trusted Sites Action: Update Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Key Path: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\ESCDomains\acme.com\netscaler Value name: https Value type: REG_DWORD Value data: 00000002 Known Issues: Occasionally files are displayed with an "X" when using On-Demand Sync. Adobe Reader X and XI will not open On-demand files if protected mode is enabled. To disable protected mode, please see Adobe s documentation for more information: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/adminguide/citrix.html When other applications that utilize icon overlays are installed before ShareFile Sync, the ShareFile Sync icons may not be displayed. This is commonly seen when Microsoft Office Groove is installed. This is a Microsoft Windows limitation, in order to work around this issue, uninstall other applications that utilize icon overlays. A path name that exceeds 246 characters is not synced. This is a limitation in Microsoft Windows. The work around for now is to shorten the path name by renaming its folders or in the case of shared folders, by only selecting specific shared folders for synchronization instead of the root of the shared folder. Limitations: If no policy is configured in Studio for XenDesktop, the ShareFile Desktop Sync Service may not properly run and cause Sync to download all the user data to the virtual machine. For a Remote Desktop Services server, Sync will not function properly. To work around this issue, configure a policy in Studio that will be applied to the Delivery Group and restart the VDA machine. This behavior occurs because the ShareFile machine policy may be overwritten. Syncing to the root of a drive is currently not supported. If you have a previously installed version of Sync that is syncing files & folders to the root of a drive, then you are advised to change the sync location prior to upgrading to the latest version of ShareFile Sync. If using Citrix Profile Management, your On-Demand Sync drive location must be the same as that of the user profile. Previous version features: Support for XenDesktop 7.6

With this release, Sync for Windows will support XenDesktop 7.6 Virtual Desktop Agent. SAML Forms Authentication for On-Demand Sync with XenMobile With this release, Sync for Windows will now enable users to logon to On-Demand Sync using SAML Forms Authentication and XenMobile. SAML Forms Authentication is now an option within the On-Demand Sync ADMX: When the user logs on to a XenApp or XenDesktop session, they will be prompted to enter their e-mail address and begin a browser login against the XenMobile environment:

When the user clicks on the Begin browser Login button, they will be redirected to the XenMobile environment and will need to provide their Active Directory credentials:

Localized Language Support ShareFile Sync for Windows has now been localized in the following languages English German French Spanish Japanese Simplified Chinese Improved handling of File Modified / File Creation Dates Sync for Windows will now preserve the File Modified and File Creation timestamps as seen on the Windows PC. This change will allow users of Sync on multiple PCs the ability to easily sort content by actual creation date. Forms Based Authentication Enterprise accounts accessing with corporate credentials can now use Forms Authentication with SAML.
