Modular Data Center Solutions Scalable. Affordable. Flexible. Fast.

Build the data center you need today with the flexibility to meet tomorrow s challenges The only constant in business is change. Fluctuations in the economy, growth in your business, new applications, cloud computing, and big data combine to create an everchanging IT climate. You need the flexibility to respond: to consolidate servers and sites, accommodate growth in space, power density and cooling, mix and match Tiers of reliability, and support the business continuity and disaster recovery needs of your business. The modular data center solution from Johnson Controls gives you the ability to adapt and grow as your business changes. Scalable, economical and reconfigurable it gives you the flexibility to make the most of your investment, allowing you to build for today, yet prepare for inevitable change.

Modular Data Center Solutions Modular flexibility, bricks-and-mortar quality Expertly engineered and carefully constructed, our customfabricated modular data centers deliver the quality and optimized performance you d expect from a bricks-andmortar facility. They re also more flexible, more visually appealing and more comfortable for your people than containerized units. Our modules are fabricated and tested under tight process control in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, so we can guarantee quality, timely delivery and conformance to your design and performance specifications. The entire modular data center is then assembled on site, tested again and commissioned. We integrate our own high-quality equipment and solutions with complementary products from the industry s most respected manufacturers to create complete, highly efficient and reliable solutions that support your mission. The complete solution includes: IT white space complete with racks and cabling Cooling solutions to fit your application and climate, using YORK equipment chillers, air handling units, evaporative coolers and more designed for energy efficiency, high uptime and quiet operation Controls and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) using the industry gold standard Metasys building management system Electrical infrastructure, including power distribution and power conditioning, such as UPS Backup generators and associated transfer switches Johnson Controls advanced security solutions, fire detection and waterless suppression system to safeguard your investment Optionally, IT equipment of your choice, installed at the factory or at the destination Custom design, affordable implementation We can custom design your modular solution, ensuring that it s sized and configured to your requirements, yet still flexible enough to evolve as your business changes. The modular solution also offers the reliability and power density you require, plus exceptional energy efficiency. In addition, the modular solution can be delivered for up to 0 percent less initial cost than for traditional construction, but also in half the time, since the site construction can occur in parallel with module manufacturing. Your data center design can also be replicated quickly and across multiple sites for operational consistency and convenience. Johnson Controls has offices in more than 150 countries. Leverage more than a century of experience As you begin your data center project, take advantage of our more than 125-year history in building efficiency, the deepest construction expertise in the industry and experience from operating hundreds of data centers and numerous other critical facilities across the world. We ll guide you through all phases of the data center lifecycle and develop a modular data center solution that supports your vision.

HVAC Pumps Close-coupled pumps have a space-saving design and rugged construction. HVAC Specialties Air separators and suction diffusers are essential to any HVAC system. Water Storage A chilled water buffer tank with 1,000 gallons capacity ensures uptime in the event of a power outage. Exterior Components Air-Cooled Chiller (Stand-by) The YORK YVAA chiller ensures maximum efficiency under all operating conditions and provides the industry s lowest kw/ton among air-cooled chillers at both full-load design and off-design conditions. Cooling Tower Cross flow design with 95 F EWT and 5 F LWT Dry Cooler (Free Cooling Applications) YORK VDCF air-cooled fluid coolers are designed for process cooling and free cooling applications. 5 Generator Room Comprises (2) Modules Automatic Transfer Switches 2x 2000A, 40V, PH, 4W Bypass isolation Continuous Generators 2x 100kW, 40V/277V, PH, 4W 12hr minimum belly-mounted fuel tank Future Expansion Flexible Design Johnson Controls modular data center solutions are flexible and versatile by design, allowing future incremental growth. Fire Detection and Suppression All rooms are protected by Johnson Controls fire detection, and IT rooms are equipped with waterless suppression systems. 4 1 4 1 5

6 Controls and Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Johnson Controls Metasys system provides reliable, highly-optimized control that saves energy. Our DCIM presents relevant information for easier and more efficient facility operation. 7 Vestibule Room Comprises (2) Modules Amenities Man trap, clean lobby, tall double doors, workstations, storage, bathroom Access Control Card or biometric White Space Comprises (2) IT Rooms Each IT Room comprises (2) modules IT Racks Standard rack size: 24 W x 4 D x 42U Qty of 40 racks per IT room (0 racks per white space) Power Density 600kW = 0 racks x 7.5kW per IT rack average Data Cable Management The integral rack cable management offers space efficient routing of factory provided data cables. IT Power Distribution The overhead busway provides flexibility in rack power density. The factory installed PDUs within the IT racks provide conditioned and monitored power. 6 7 7 Hot Aisle Containment Hot aisle containment in the IT rooms ensures efficient heat rejection. Using a computational fluid dynamics software tool for simulating cooling performance, ductwork is strategically placed to maintain a uniform temperature within the flooded cold aisle. Anti-static Flooring The special flooring dissipates static charges, increasing operator safety and preventing possible equipment damage. Computer Room Air Conditioners The chilled water-based precision cooling system with integrated humidification control is specifically designed to handle the high heat loads generated by computers and other electronic equipment. Cooling solutions such as York chillers and evaporative coolers are chosen to fit the application and climate, providing energy efficiency, high uptime and quiet operation. Video Surveillance and Perimeter Security The entire facility is protected by Johnson Controls advanced security systems.
