STRUCTURE OF VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATION Scope of studies 120 credits (=3 years) Student counselling (min. 1,5 credits) a final project (2 credits) Vocational studies, 90 credits -On-the-job learning, minimum 20 credits -Vocational skills demonstrations - Common vocational studies - Special vocational studies by study programme Core subjects, 20 credits - Compulsory studies, 16 credits - Optional studies, 4 credits Tampere College (Tampereen ammattiopisto) - five units: technology, transportation and forestry, business and services, social and health care, immigrant education; (cross sectoral adult education) - almost 30 qualifications - combination studies: VET and upper secondary education (3-4 yrs); VQ+VQ recognition of acquired prior knowledge (no over-lapping) - several premises in Tampere and Ylöjärvi (with subsidiaries around the country) - funding from the government to the education provider (city of Tampere) - 3800 students (16+); staff over 500 Free-choice studies, 10 credits 1 CREDIT = 40 HOURS OF WORK
