OXYLANE RESULTS IN 2012 In 2012, Oxylane and its subsidiaries achieved a turnover of 7 billion Euros exc. VAT, an increase of 7.2% (8.8% in 2011). Like-for-like sales in our DECATHLON stores increased by 1.3% (1.1% in 2011). In 2012, 57 new Decathlon stores were opened in 20 different countries, including our first store in Taiwan (June 2012). KEY MOMENTS IN 2012 Innovation: Backpack or shoulder bag? Newfeel, Oxylane s urban brand, won the Oxylane Innovation Awards at the end of last year with the BACKENGER, a practical and decidedly good-looking urban bag that is set to revolutionise your daily habits. Developed in partnership with Strenfit, one of our component brands, the Backenger embodies a break from traditional thinking and provides an innovative and patent-protected multi-function carrying solution. The trick is in the strap. In one fluid movement, the shoulder strap is instantaneously transformed into two backpack straps and vice versa.the Backenger has been on sale since March 2013. The b Twin Tilt arrives in store Winner of the Oxylane Innovation Awards in 2011, the foldable b Twin Tilt arrived in stores in November. The bike that folds and unfolds in one second is protected by 4 patents. 2
KEY MOMENTS Spain: 20 years old Decathlon arrives in Taiwan The first store near Barcelona in 1992 heralded Decathlon s arrival in Spain. Twenty years later, with 97 stores, it is Decathlon s second biggest territory after France (256 stores). 10.000 employees siempre en forma The country s 1 st store (4,500 m 2 ) opened its doors in June to the south of Taichung. A second opening is planned for this year. Mathieu Leclercq, new Oxylane president On June 22 nd, Mathieu Leclercq, son of Michel, the Decathlon founder, took over the presidency from his brother Olivier. Mathieu began his Decathlon career as a department manager in Spain before moving on to China and the US. In 2007, he created an innovative farm shop concept la Ferme du Sart (now O tera du Sart) in Villeneuve d Ascq. 3
DECATHLON RESULTS IN 2012 In a difficult economic environment, Decathlon France continues to invest and advance in order to confirm its image as the nation s preferred brand (OC & C Strategy Consultants survey). With the opening of 6 new stores and the renovation and extension of 7 others, the chain generated 2.79 billion of turnover in 2012, a growth of 4.7% (+2.7% like-for-like). Decathlon also continues to roll out its ecommerce offer. Having increased its sales by 43%, decathlon.fr is now profitable.».
