York Comprehensive High School Exterior Imagine three individual schools in one district each representing a community and a body of students and combining them into one. That s the challenge the York County School District faced when it chose to consolidate the area s three high schools. The end result is York Comprehensive High School, a new two-story, 360,000-square foot high school and technology center - and the only school housing grades 9 through 12 in the district. Partnered with the architecture and design team of LS3P Associates, the York County School District wanted an interior color scheme that would reflect the heritage and identity of the formerly separate schools in the area. Milliken was a great partner on this very large, complex high school project. Corridor Carpets: Remix Collection and Simply That Collection York Comprehensive High School Hallway The carpet tiles offered a unique range of design flexibility, and allowed the school to include the colors of the three formerly separate schools mascots in the interior design. The color scheme for the Academic wings utilizes Milliken s Remix collection in shades of blue and green. The central core spaces feature Milliken s Stimulus Blip in neutral black/silver/beige tones. The Activities wing was planned with large scale and more playful patterns using Theory and Stimulus Blip, all in shades of red.
