SPANISH FIRMS BUILD THE WORLD Spain is a world leader in the field of infrastructures and industrial engineering and construction, thanks to the dynamic spirit and advanced technology of Spanish companies. The country's engineering and construction firms, with their international prestige and high know-how level, are involved in the most important infrastructure projects worldwide. They are present in 85 countries across all 5 continents, and managing nearly 40% of the major transport concessions in the world. Spain is an international reference, a high-tech power in areas such as air and road transport, infrastructure management, railway infrastructure, and public works. ACS ranks number-one among the world's top 250 contractors, as measured by exports figures 1 (top international) and the sixth by total production (top global). ACS is the top-ranked firm in the world in transport infrastructure management in terms of number of highways, railways, airports and ports under construction and/or operation 2 concessions. This category also includes GLOBALVIA-FCC (2nd), ABERTIS (4th), FERROVIAL/CINTRA (7th), SACYR (11th), ACCIONA/NECSO (15th), ISOLUX CORSAN (35th) and ITINERE (37th). Regarding capital invested in 2013 3, five Spanish companies were on the world top-10 list: FERROVIAL/CINTRA ranked number-one worldwide, followed by ACS (HOCHTIEF+IRIDIUM) (2nd), SACYR (7th), GLOBALVIA-FCC (8th) and OHL (9th). Other Spanish companies ranked among the world's largest in terms of export figures: FCC, OHL, ABEINSA, TECNICAS REUNIDAS, ISOLUX CORSAN, ACCIONA and SACYR, all of which rank among the world's 50 largest 4. COMSA, IBERDROLA, SAN JOSE and SENER also stand out in the international rankings. In the oil industry, TECNICAS REUNIDAS is number seven in the world ranking among engineering companies for oil & gas sector 5, as well as number one as international lump-sum turnkey contractor (LSTK) in EPC refinery construction. Spanish companies can boast a 2014 portfolio of international projects topping 74 billion. In 2013 Spanish companies won bids for contracts abroad worth more than 45 billion. Awarded to ACCIONA (33%) in corsortium with Capella Capital and Bouygues Design. w Construction and financing of the first stage of the East West Link in Melbourne, the largest civil works project in Australia. The eastern section of the East West Link is 6.6 km long and will include twin 4.4 km three-lane tunnels. It will support the long-term growth and development of the city of Melbourne.
