Directions to get from Schiphol Train Station to IBIS Hotel Schiphol-Leiden Centraal It is remarkably easy to get to Leiden and the IBIS Hotel once your flight gets in. Take a train from the Schiphol train plaza, which is probably the quickest connection from walking out of baggage to the actual train station of any airport ever. You will spend 5.40 Euros on a one-day, same-day ticket at one of the yellow machines with a touch screen (do not get discount fare). If you use a credit card, it will charge you a bit extra, and the machines don t take Euro bills. Leiden trains are usually on track 5-6, and come at least 6 times an hour. For example, the times are 9:03, 9:17, 9:26, 9:33, 9:47, 9:56 between 9-10 am. The final destination may not be Leiden, but den Haag Centraal, or another city in the south, so make sure to see Leiden Centraal on the station stop list, but it is unlikely you are going to get on a wrong train from tracks 5-6. Leiden Centraal is 15 minutes and is the first stop on the Intercity trains, and if it is a Sprinter (Local) then it is the last stop and takes about 5 minutes longer. A tip: There are a couple of these machines in the baggage area and they are less crowded than the ones at the train plaza, which are inundated with confused tourists, and you can get a ticket while you wait for your baggage. Leiden Centraal- IBIS Hotel Get out of the station on the left side of the train as it is moving into the station. This is the main side, and there is a big brick plaza as you leave the white steel beam station. You will see where the buses are to the right (south), and the IBIS hotel is about 200 meters along the road that parallels to the train tracks, and is overlooking the busses. See map on next page to see the distance between the train station icon and the (A) for where the IBIS is (it is the building in the middle here with the small red sign on top- says IBIS).

Update as of June 14, 2013- Walk to the Rapenburg canal, a very famous canal in Leiden, and go south. You will continue straight onto Kaisersstraat to the south at the bend in the Rapenburg, which continues to the right.
Update as of June 14, 2013- The satellite map on the previous page shows a right turn to the west onto Sterrenwachtlaan off of Kaiserstraat. This is very obvious now as there is a lot of construction going on at this corner and the building a the southwest corner of of Sterrenwachtlaan and Kaiserstraat has been leveled. The observatory is obvious to see. Go into where the receiptionist is on the north side of the building and follow the signs to room C104. There will be signs for the workshop.
