Training at Satcom Direct is a privately-held company founded in 1997, headquartered in Satellite Beach, Florida, with locations around the world. We provide global satellite communications to corporate, business, military and government aviation, land-mobile and maritime industries. Satcom Direct pioneered 10-digit dialing service to aircraft in flight, known as our Global One Number service. Today, we provide nose-to-tail value-add services to aviation, including cockpit datalink service, accelerated high-speed data, real-time traffic monitoring, VoIP services, ATS position reporting, mobile applications and unified electronic billing. Satcom Direct is a premier Inmarsat Distribution Partner, Iridium Service Partner and ViaSat Yonder s preferred reseller. We offer training classes and technology seminars on industry trends, understanding Inmarsat and Iridium networks, hardware configuration and troubleshooting techniques. Our dedicated in-house software engineering team designs new technologies and continually tests onsite in the company s satcom lab. As we grow, we continue to maintain our team commitment to advancing all available services from the flight deck to the cabin. Introduction to Inmarsat Services in Aviation Objectives: Following this course, participants will be able to describe Inmarsat satellite constellations and all services in correlation to each satellite footprint. The learning objectives of the course are to understand Inmarsat s aviation services evolving and future satellite services in Aviation. The course will allow participants to differentiate between Cockpit and Cabin services and allow participants to subscribe to relevant services. After attending the course and studying the assigned handouts, participants will participant in a 30-minute exam (achievable) post the course delivery with a 75% pass rate. Participants will be able to demonstrate correct satellite services for safety and commercial use on Aircraft, as well as understanding hardware configurations on all services related after completing the course successfully and passing the exam. Introduction to IP and Voice Networks Objectives: Following this course, participants will be able to describe key factors regarding IP and Voice networks from network topologies, voice infrastructure, IP addressing and subnetting that will increase the knowledge of participants in the SATCOM industry. After attending the course and studying the assigned handouts, participants will participant in a 60 minute exam post the course delivery with a 80% pass rate. Participants will be able to demonstrate correct IP troubleshooting on multiple platforms on Aircraft, as well as understanding voice networks and all services related after completing the course successfully and passing the exam. The learning objectives of this course understand schematics, hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting evolvement and configurations. These objectives will increase the day to day troubleshooting of SATCOM systems, agnostic on all platforms. After attending the course and studying the assigned handouts, participants will participant in a 90 minute exam post the course delivery with a 75% pass rate. Participants will be able to demonstrate correct SATCOM troubleshooting on multiple platforms on Aircraft, as well as understanding hardware configurations on all services related after completing the course successfully and passing the exam. Duration: 2 days Location: Farnborough, Geneva, Dubai or Hong Kong. OEM Communications Course Technical Course Targeted at MROs and completion centers, this OEM Communications course is customized to deliver STC and system configurations for aircraft type. You will learn the system overview and configurations for Gulfstream, Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer and Cessna. The delivery of the schematics for SATCOM for Inmarsat, Iridium and Viasat systems and the configuration of SATCOM on the OEM fleet is the main focus of the course. In addition, you will learn about the troubleshooting protocols for specific fleet. Please note, depending on your choice of OEM fleet, the price and length of course will vary.
