Entrepreneurship Education students should develop business and management skills & know-how on top of their Technological/Engineering education. Entrepreneurship - the skills and mode of operation, needed for initiating/leading new company, or for promoting initiatives within organizations. The Minor in Entrepreneurship provides important knowledge and skills for students in all the Engineering & Science faculties
The Entrepreneurship Minor The Minor allows students to focus on their Major [ EE, CS, Bio-Medical, Medicine, Mechanical etc ] and attain the Entrepreneurship specialization. On Nov 21 st 2011 the Minor was approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs On Jan 29 th 2012 it was approved by the Senate.
The Program The Minor program includes 4 courses: 3 mandatory and one is elective. These courses provide the students with the basics in business education [ Finance, Legal, IP and Market ] as well as in Management [ OB, Leadership, Negotiations..] plus hands-on experience in team dynamics and running your own company while attempting to commercialize a technological idea/product. The elective course that the student undertakes is one out of a dozen classes that are available. In most cases the student is directed to take a course within her/his faculty.

BizTEC 2015 National business plan competition for students 75 teams applied this year ( 2015 ) to the competition 50 Judges helped to evaluate the teams 40 Mentors will guide and assist the teams 6 extensive Workshops will provide relevant tools, skills and methods to the teams [ eschool ] The BizTEC partners will escort and assist the teams 30 teams selected to proceed to the eschool stage. 8 12 Teams will reach the finals and one team will win the $10,000 prize
