Analyzer 2.0 Analyzer 2.0 is a comprehensive suite of tools designed to help you analyze complex aqueous and multisolvent electrolyte solution chemistry, thermophysical properties, phase behavior and corrosion phenomena. Currently, there are four highly interrelated tools: Stream Analyzer Corrosion Analyzer Lab Analyzer SCORE Analyzer single point and survey calculations for process streams single point and survey corrosion calculations water analysis reconciliation scaling and corrosion predictions for gas and oil field fluids The installation script is available in two forms: A self-extracting executable file named OLI Analyzer 2.0.exe available for download from the OLI Systems web site. A product distribution CD available from OLI Systems. In addition to the installation disk or self-extracting executable, you will need an OLI Hardlock security key and Serial Number combination or a Serial Number associated with an OLI Network License Server running on your network. If you don t have these, please contact OLI Systems (973-539-4996). Operating System MS Windows 98 Second Edition MS Windows ME N/A MS Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 MS Windows 2000 (any) Service Pack 3 MS Windows XP (any) Service Pack 1 Service Packs Please note that OLI no longer supports Windows 95. Also, even though Windows 98 and ME are still supported, it is highly recommended that you upgrade to either Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP (Home or Professional). Also, if possible, it is advisable to upgrade to Internet Explorer 6.0. This has the side-benefit of making sure that your Windows system has the latest support DLLs for Microsoft s COM subsystem. 2 Installation There are two security options available from OLI: 1) workstation security using a Hardlock key or, 2) network security using the OLI Network License Server. OLI Systems, Inc. Analyzer 2.0 Page 2

If you have been sent an OLI Hardlock key then follow the instructions in Section 2.1 and then proceed to Section 2.3 to install the software. If your organization uses network security then start at Section 2.2 and then proceed to Section 2.3. 2.1 OLI Hardlock Key (Workstation Security) If you downloaded the self-extracting executable from the OLI Systems web site, then you will need to contact OLI (973-539-4996) to obtain a Hardlock key and associated Serial Number. To install the Hardlock key, simply attach it to the parallel port located on the back of your computer. If you have the USB version of the Hardlock key then attach it to any available USB connection. If you have a parallel port version of the Hardlock key and you have a printer connected to the parallel port, then unplug your printer, connect the key and then reconnect your printer to the Hardlock key. The Hardlock key shouldn t interfere with your printer. Also, if you have a parallel port security key for another software product, please make sure that the OLI Hardlock key is connected directly to the parallel port and is first in the chain of keys. 2.2 OLI Network License Server If your organization uses the OLI Network License Server then you will need an application client Serial Number and the IP address of the server running the network license service. Your site administrator will be able to provide you with the information you need. You will need the Serial Number to perform the installation. The IP address will be used after you install the software. 2.3 Software Setup Analyzer 2.0 uses InstallShield to lead you through a typical Windows installation process. The installation is available in two formats: A self-extracting executable file named OLI Analyzer 2.0.exe available for download from the OLI Systems web site. A product distribution CD available from OLI Systems. If you downloaded the self-extracting executable from the OLI Systems web site, then use Windows Explorer to locate the file and double click on the file to start the installation. You will need a password to unzip the self-extracting executable file. Contact OLI for the latest password for this product. If you have a product distribution disk provided by OLI, then insert the CD and run X:\setup.exe (where X: is the drive letter for your CD-ROM). Or, open Windows Explorer, locate setup.exe and double click on it. OLI Systems, Inc. Analyzer 2.0 Page 3
