Degree Programs BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEMS The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Systems (CJS) is an integrated program focused on prevention, enforcement, intervention and disposition from local, state, national and global perspectives. The systems of study include law enforcement, victim and offender services, legal, courts, corrections, probation and parole. Courses are taught by criminal justice and law enforcement professionals that are actively involved in the community, thereby bringing a fresh, real-world perspective into the classroom. Supervised field training experiences further prepare you to enter the job market. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN PSYCHOLOGY A bachelor s degree in Psychology from Alliant prepares you for a career in integrated behavioral health and health care fields. The program combines learning in the classroom with real-world experience through supervised field placements that enable you to help others while preparing for job entry. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION The bachelor s in Business Administration is built on a solid foundation of fundamental business principles. Courses focus on understanding business, management, information systems and the overall dynamics of organizations. It places a strong emphasis on the practical application of knowledge through internships and consulting projects that strengthen your critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills, preparing you for a wide variety of careers. Concentrations: Global Studies Finance Accounting Health Care Management Information Systems and Technology Management Management International Business Administration Integrated Marketing Communications Social and Professional Media BACHELOR OF ARTS IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT Child Development (CD) is your key to a rewarding career as an educator of children from birth through adolescence and early adulthood. This specialized area of education provides students with the knowledge and skills to promote a developmental perspective in their work with children and families, to establish partnerships between families and CD professionals that reflect family-centered practices, and to provide educational and community programming that is inclusive of all children. A focus on projectbased learning allows graduates to find positions in preschools, Head Start programs, day care centers, foster care agencies, social service agencies, family service agencies, residential care facilities, counseling centers, health clinics, mental health centers, as well as in non-governmental agencies. The major also prepares students for further graduate study in education, family law, social work, psychology, or human development. BACHELOR OF ARTS IN POLITICAL SCIENCE A degree in Political Science will let you make a true impact in your community, city, and world. This program prepares students for careers in the public and private sectors or for further graduate study. Students majoring in Political Science study political behavior, institutions, and systems, both in the U.S. and around the world. They gain a deep understanding of political, social and economic issues, their processes and interconnectedness. The course work emphasizes development of critical and analytical thinking and writing skills, as well as competence in the subject matter. The program embraces a global, interdisciplinary approach, which teaches students the skills needed to work effectively within and across cultural and national boundaries, and tackle local, regional and global political challenges. Professional internships, community service projects, and research activities round out the political science program, connecting the concepts and theories learned in the classroom with its practical, real-world application in organizations. Must meet minimum admissions requirements and be enrolled full-time. May not be combined with programmatic scholarships. Alliant Financial Aid Alliant offers several types of financial aid programs to assist with the diverse needs of our students including grants, loans and part-time employment. To be considered, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA: www.fafsa.ed.gov). The FAFSA priority deadline to be considered for all federal and state grants is March 2. Alliant s FAFSA School code is: 011117 2014-15 Costs Undergraduate Tuition & Fees* $16,040 Optional On-Campus Housing $7,945 Personal Expenses* $4,000 Transportation* $864 Books and Supplies $1,746 * Budgeted costs are subject to change; housing and transportation costs for students living-off campus will be approximately $4,000 higher than is outlined above for students living on-campus. On-campus housing is optional ($7,945 per academic year for double occupancy.) Includes meals, utilities, basic cable with HBO and internet but no phone service. All international students, students living on campus, and students who register for 12 or more units are required to carry health insurance. Students will be charged this additional fee automatically if they do not provide proof of current medical coverage to the university.
