natural stone solutions from the Cotswolds Atlas Roofing

Atlas Roofing natural stone solutio Atlas is one of the most celebrated names in Cotswold stone products a brand that has stood over many years for quality and strength. Its great traditions are being maintained following its acquisition by Huntsmans Quarries, a family-owned business that makes its living from the unique honey and buff-coloured stone of the Cotswolds. With supplies of natural stone now more limited and expensive, Atlas roof slates are a cost-effective alternative. They demonstrate very capably that it is possible to match the beauty, durability and versatility of real stone slates. The quality is such that the slates are welcomed by planning authorities that want to preserve the traditional character of historic areas. Atlas roof slates are made from natural Cotswolds aggregates, handfinished by craftsmen in a range of sizes and colours. Their popularity is such that they have been used over many years, not just in newbuild developments, but for restoration of some of Britain s most beautiful buildings, including St John s College and Magdalen College, Oxford and Westminster College, Cambridge. The Atlas Roofing range is available in three colours Cotswold, Collyweston and Cambridge Gold. Slates are available in six lengths, each in five widths, giving a naturally random effect. Under-eaves and ridge tiles are also available. matching the beauty, durability and versatility of real stone slates New-build cottages at Langton Matravers near Swanage, with Atlas Roofing in Cotswold colour Atlas Roofing in Cambridge Gold colour was used in the refurbishment of The Querns Hospital, Cirencester 160 million years in the making - and still making its mark today - natural slate and stone

A perfect match to the original and meeting the demands of the local planning authority Natural feather edging makes Atlas Roofing virtually indistinguishable from naturally hewn slate. Here, Collyweston slates are used by Charles Church We take the inspiration for colouring and finish from naturally occurring cotswold stone Cotswold Collyweston Cambridge Gold Residential and commercial applications all need the same attention to detail. Here, a new Sainsbury s building in Witney uses Atlas Roofing in Cotswold colour

Standing the test of time. The nave of Northmoor Church in Oxfordshire was renovated in the 1940s using the forerunner of Atlas Roofing. It was the natural choice to match the original stone slate of the lower vestry for new-build and restoration work A development at Andoversford, Gloucestershire by JP Homes - using Atlas Roofing in Cotswold and Atlas Walling in Cotswold colour and Rustic finish Commercial applications can be just as critical when building in sensitive areas and environments

Atlas Roofing Our raw material comes from natural geological strata from the Jurassic era running from north east to south west, with our quarry at its heart. The warm and mellow colour of this material, so characteristic of traditional properties across this band, blends naturally onto the buildings and into the landscape. We make our Atlas roof slates from natural Cotswolds aggregates hand-finished by craftsmen in a range of sizes and colours.
