2. How to use this Guide This Course Enrolment Guide 2015 provides you with information on when and where the units available for study in this program(s) will be offered in 2015. Enrolling in units for 2015 1. Read Section 3. Program Information for information on course structure and unit sequence. Take note of any prerequisite or co-requisite requirements before selecting particular units. A prerequisite is a requirement that must be met by a student before enrolment in a stipulated unit. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the prerequisites for a unit prior to enrolling into that unit. A co-requisite is a requirement that must be met by having already passed or being concurrently enrolled in an associated unit in order to be able to enrol in the stipulated unit. If you wish to enrol into a unit for which you have not met the prerequisite or corequisite requirements, please obtain approval from your Course Coordinator. 2. Refer to the unit listings in Section 6. Units Offered in 2015 to select your units. Take note of the study period in which units are offered. 3. You must refer to Administration & Enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/332297) for information on how to complete your enrolment via Student Connect. Administration & Enrolment also provides detailed information on managing your studies. 4. Log on to Student Connect and enrol (http://students.acu.edu.au/136953). Student Connect is a web interface allowing students to complete their ACU enrolment online. IMPORTANT NOTE Failure to enrol or re-enrol before the published due dates for re-enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/381148) may result in late fee penalties. Even if you are unsure of what units you need to enrol in, please ensure that you enrol or re-enrol in at least one unit before the due date. Enrolling in at least one unit by the due date will enable you to add further units, or amend your enrolment via Student Connect up until the final dates published in the Critical Dates for Variation of Enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/273880). Program Information The Bachelor of Business Administration / Bachelor of is a dual degree program offered to high achieving students who are interested in the social, political, cultural, environmental and economic changes that are shaping our world. The Bachelor of Business Administration / Bachelor of program combines an interdisciplinary Business and Management education with that explores globalization, world politics, justice, sustainability and future opportunities and challenges. The Core Curriculum The Australian Catholic University Core Curriculum has been designed to focus on aspects of the University s identity and mission. The units emphasises critical judgment, clear expression, ethical decision-making and concern for others, as individuals and as a community. The Core is comprised of a total of five units: Two University Core units: All students in the Bachelor of Business Administration/Bachelor of are required to complete the following University Core units as part of this program: UNCC100 UNCC300 Our World, Community and Vulnerability Understanding Self and Society: Contemporary Perspectives Two Program Core units: These units build explicitly on the University Core units and all students in the Bachelor of Business Administration/Bachelor of are required to complete the Program Core units listed below: BUSN110 BUSN202 Responsible Reasoning and Communication Ethics One Community Engagement unit: This unit serves to integrate theory with practice. Students are recommended to study abroad (ACU has partner institutions around the world) and/or do an internship that provides international work experience and networks. For more information on Core Curriculum please refer to http://www.acu.edu.au/429466 LOCATION OF UNIT OFFERINGS Students in Sydney will be required to complete units at North Sydney and Strathfield campuses. IMPORTANT NOTE a) UNCC units are often taught over differing week patterns to allow for student placements at various times during semester. Students should take special care to note the week pattern of tutorials when they allocate in tutorial direct to ensure that they are choosing the correct stream for their course b) Please consult with your Course Coordinator if the following applies to you: You need to repeat a UNCC unit due to a previous fail grade. You are unable to complete a UNCC unit during the standard semester it is offered. You plan to enrol in an advertised international option specific to the Core. Want to make good use of your July vacation? Study intensive units face to face with world-class researchers and teachers at ACU July School, North Sydney Campus. At ACU July School you can choose to study one or two elective units during your winter break and seek academic credit in your ACU degree. If you are Commonwealth Supported student you won t pay any extra for these units. If you are an international student you pay the same tuition fee for these units as you do for units during the semester. There are a range of exciting units to choose from at the ACU July School. Students commencing from 2013 onwards Important Information 4.1 Course Structure Bachelor of Business Administration/Bachelor of To qualify for the degrees, a student must complete 320 cp consisting of: 1. 120 cp from units, consisting of ; a. 40 cp from Core Units; b. 40 cp from the Study/Internship unit; c. 40 cp from Electives; And 2. 180 cp selected in accordance with the requirements for the Bachelor of Business Administration degree, consisting of: a. 130 cp from Core Units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings for the Bachelor of Business Administration; b. 50 cp from any other units listed in the Schedule of Unit offerings for any Bachelor degree course offered by the Faculty of Business, with at least 30 cp at advanced level; and c.
