Doorman is a program designed to manage front door operations. Users can check ID s to verify age using an ID scanner, manage collection of cover charges and sell tickets. Is PointOS DoorMan a different license? No, PointOS DoorMan is purchased and runs just like a Professional station. It is licensed the same as Professional. This means that when it is connected to the database it counts as a station and will require a license. Are there any restrictions on the point of sale demo version? No, the demo is a full working version of PointOS Professional. However, it will only run on one computer at a time. How long is the free trial? The free trial is 30 days, after that you will have to purchase PointOS to continue using it. Will I lose my data once I purchase? Once purchased you will not lose any data from your point of sale software demo period. 10

What is your return policy on software? All software sales are final. Because PointOS offers a FREE 30 day evaluation to ensure that this product will meet your needs without the need to purchase, there will be absolutely NO REFUNDS on our software. Before deciding to purchase our software, please be sure to download, install and fully test the evaluation version that we provide. Unlike physical goods, electronically distributed software cannot be returned once a serial number is issued and it has been installed. Accordingly, it is our policy that once we have distributed a release version to a customer, the sale is final, and you may not return the software for a refund or credit. On the demo what is the default password? The default password is 1111. This should be changed, for security reasons, when you setup your own database. Do I need any special hardware? No, to use PointOS point of sale all you need is a computer, monitor and mouse. However, PointOS is specifically designed to work with any touch screen monitor, cash drawer, credit card swiper and receipt printer. Additionally, if you wish to use the id scanning functionality, you will need to purchase a Scan Shell id scanner. Do I need any additional software? No, PointOS contains all you need to get up and running. To run the music functionality of PointOS, all you need is Windows Media Player, which is available free from Microsoft. Where do I get my music for the music player? PointOS will play any music that Windows Media Player includes.mp3,.wma and.wav. You can purchase music from various sources online (Napster, Yahoo, etc.) or rip them from cd's that you have purchased. However, like all music, to play a song in a public venue you must have the appropriate music license (ASCAP, BMI, etc.). What are the different price levels? All levels of PointOS come standard with ALL features. Price levels are determined based on the number of computer stations that will be connected to the database at one time. Once installed on a station, there is no limit to the number of servers that can be cashed in. Additional stations can be purchased initially or added later as your business grows. 11

Can I resell or re-license my purchased software to another party? All software is registered only to the company that originally purchased it, and unless you are a registered reseller, PointOS may not be re-sold or re-licensed to any other party. Do I need to have a network? No, to use PointOS on just one computer you do not need to have a network setup. However, if you are running multiple stations you will need to have them connected either wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable based system. Do I need to be online? No, you do not need to be online to use PointOS. However, if you are using the credit card functionality, you will need some sort of internet connection. This connection can be anything at all including modem. Additionally, to receive free software updates you will need an Internet connection. If you do not have one you can still install and update using our Offline Version. Does PointOS support gift cards? Yes, you will be able to sell and redeem gift cards. You can even do this across multiple locations. How does age verification work? PointOS is designed to work seamlessly with Shell Scan's id scanners. Driver's licenses can be scanned to check for age and validity. Once scanned, PointOS will only offer items that are age appropriate. Additionally, a Customer's future sales and activities can be tracked. Consent to store customer data is required where applicable by law. What Operating Systems does PointOS run on? PointOS Professional runs on all versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, POSReady 2009, and Windows 7. Do I need Microsoft Excel? PointOS Professional will export files to Excel format. To do this you will need Microsoft Excel installed on the computer that you are using export. This is also necessary if auto-emailing sales reports as an Excel attachment. How does PointOS to QuickBooks work? PointOS Professional will export all financial data from the POS to QuickBooks. This data includes sales, payments, payouts, refunds, and basically all money in and out of the POS. To do this you will need 12

QuickBooks installed on the computer that you are using export. PointOS works with all versions of QuickBooks, except QuickBooks POS. Does PointOS Professional have International support? At this time PointOS Professional only comes in English. However, it does support International dates and currency. Additionally, PointOS will only support credit card transactions within the United States. 24 hour email support is always available to all customers. Do I need to install the Server on all cash register stations? No, the server portion of PointOS only needs to be installed on one computer on the network. You can install the server on any machine, however when sharing data you'll want all the stations to point to one computer designated as the database server. This can be selected on start up. Just select the computer and database name, from the choose database screen. Although the database server portion can be run from any computer on the network, it is recommended that you run it from a back office computer and not a wait staff workstation. Do I need to purchase a client for my back office computer? That depends. Our pricing is based on the number of PointOS Point of Sale Software clients connected to the database, at one time. PointOS uses SQL Server Express, which in itself does not count as a client. Therefore, if you do not purchase a client for the back office, you can still run the server off of it. However, if you wish to check sales or do setup from the back office computer, you will need to either purchase another PointOS client or simply shut down a PointOS client on another computer. Basically, if you want to run PointOS on the back office only after hours or when one of your other stations is down, you will not need to purchase a client. I have multiple stations, how should I setup my network? To setup a Windows network to be able to share a PointOS database, you want to do a few things. First, make sure all computers are on the same workgroup. Second, setup all the computers with the same login name and password and make sure those accounts have administrative rights. Third, make sure you are not running any antivirus programs that would block your computers from seeing SQL Server on the shared database computer. My computer is old and too slow to run PointOS, what do I do? You can download our Classic Version of PointOS. It runs much faster on older systems; however it does lack some of the features of the newest version. Additionally, there will be no more updates to this Classic version. 13
