2 Software Installation Manual V Introduction: This manual's purpose is to guide you through the process of download, installation, license activation, updating and uninstalling MyForexDashboard software on your computer. System Requirements: A valid Internet connection throughout the installation process. A valid license of MyForexDashboard Software. Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7, Vista or XP. 4 About MyForexDashboard MyForexDashboard is the software tool that converts your brokers' basic account statements into in six powerful dashboards, professionally organized according to the main trading aspects (Strategy, Risk, Money Management and Trading Psychology), providing the most key information from your own trading results, to help identify where to improve your performance in Forex trading. MyForexDashboard will be constantly monitored and upgraded, to guarantee the best possible user experience and the best possible information quality for your decision making in Forex trading. What's in version MyForexDashboard 1.0 includes six professional interactive dashboards, and a Tools spreadsheet. It currently supports virtually all MT4 (MetaTrader 4) brokers' account statement files, and well known worldwide brokers such as FXCM, GFT Forex and DBFX. Improved compatibility: FXCM TSG (Trading Station Gateway) is now supported. Transactions Detail Dashboard has been reworked. Now you have a trading journal at your fingertips. Time Zone support: No matter what time zone your broker reports your transactions in. You can select the right time zone, and your trading session's based indicators will be grouped correctly. Faster Performance: If you have Microsoft Office 2007, just install the free Microsoft Office Service Pack 2 (SP2) package. It will improve MyForexDashboard's processing times by up to 2.5 times. 5 1. Installation In this chapter you will be guided through the installation process of MyForexDashboard software. System Requirements checklist Before we start, please check that you have the following requirements: o o o A valid internet connection throughout the installation AND activation processes. A valid license of MyForexDashboard software. It can be found at your Purchase Confirmation , or you can retrieve it visiting the members section at 5 to 50 minutes (depending on your internet bandwidth and Microsoft Office previously installed components and updates). 6 The installation step by step process Important step - before we start: Please open Microsoft Excel 2007 (or 2010). Click on the OFFICE BUTTON (i) located at the located at Excel's upper left part, then click on EXCEL OPTIONS (ii). Click on the TRUST CENTER left tab (i); then, click on TRUST CENTER SETTINGS (ii). 7 A new window will appear. Click on MACRO SETTINGS (i) and look for the Developer Macro Settings checkbox. The option TRUST ACCESS TO THE VBA PROJECT OBJECT MODEL (ii) must be SELECTED. Click OK (iii) to finish. Now follow the step by step installation process: Page 7 of 24

8 1. You must first login to MyForexDashboard website members section. Open your browser and enter the following address: members Enter your login information and click the LOGIN button. 2. Go to YOUR DOWNLOADS (click on the upper tab); then, click on DOWNLOAD (ii). Depending on your internet browser, you will be required to choose the file destination. As soon as it finishes downloading (it might take from 20 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on your internet bandwidth), double click on the downloaded file (SETUP) to run. Page 8 of 24

9 3. A window called OPEN FILE - SECURITY WARNING will pop up. Please click RUN to continue. 4. MyForexDashboard's End User License Agreement will appear onscreen. Please read it and click ACCEPT to continue. Page 9 of 24

10 4..NET FRAMEWRK 3.5 SP1 installation: If your computer is running Windows 7, it is possible that you already have the latest version of Microsoft.NET Framework, and this step will not apply. Otherwise, please follow these instructions: 1) A.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 download request will appear. This is provided and downloaded directly from Microsoft. You can read the End User License Agreement, and then you must click ACCEPT to continue. 2) Your computer will now download the required components from Microsoft. The total download can be around 250Mb, and the download time will depend on your internet bandwidth connection (it can vary from 10 to 50 minutes, so please be patient). You will see some progress bars like those shown here, for installation, extraction and configuration of the components. You will not have to do any additional steps here, but to wait until this process is complete. When finished, all these windows will automatically close. 3) A Microsoft Office Customization Installer will show on screen. Please wait while it retrieves Office customization information. 11 5. If asked, click on the INSTALL button to continue with the installation process. A progress bar will show. It will download additional software components from website. You will see the progress bar showing the download. Once it is completed, you will receive a confirmation of successful installation. Click CLOSE to finish the installation process. Now, the installation process has been completed. Then, you can follow to the next chapter to activate your product license. Page 11 of 24

12 Quick tips to improve MyForexDashboard Software Performance Keeping your Microsoft Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office up to date can dramatically improve MyForexDashboard's performance by reducing processing time up to 2.5 times. Microsoft updates are free for uses with genuine Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office Spreadsheet Software. If you install MyForexDashboard in Microsoft Excel 2007, we strongly recommend that you have Microsoft Office Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Office 2007 installed on your computer. To download it, please visit the following link from Microsoft and follow the on-screen instructions: Performance Tips: If you use MyForexDashboard software on a laptop computer please be sure that your "Power Options" are set to "High Performance". Visit your Windows' Control Panel to modify your power settings under the "Power Options" tab. Keep your Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software with the latest online updates. You can always check for updates by clicking on "Start" at the Windows Desktop's task bar, then "All programs", and finally on "Windows Updates". Page 12 of 24

13 2. License Activation What's this? As owner of MyforexDashboard software license, you are entitled to download and install it on a single computer. Please refer to the LICENSE ADMINISTRATION section of this manual for more information. Activation checklist o Please remember to have a valid internet connection at this point. o Please have your product license serial number at hand. It can be found in your PURCHASE CONFIRMATION , that has been sent to you just after you purchased MyForexDashboard software online. The Activation Step by Step Process 1. Open Microsoft Excel A welcome screen will pop up. Please enter your complete license serial number (including hyphens), and then click on ACTIVATE to start the validation process. Note: You can retrieve your license number from the Purchase Confirmation you received from MyForexDashboard. Also, you can retrieve it from the members area at the website: com/members After you login, click on YOUR PRODUCTS and find your product license under the column SERIAL KEY If you don't have the license number with you at this moment, or you are installing MyForexDashboard for Page 13 of 24

14 evaluation purposes, click on TRY DEMO VERSION button. You will be able to use all the features of MyForexDashboard Software, limited to a DEMO sample file. If you purchase a license of MyForexDashboard Software after you have tried the demo version, simply click on the ACTIVATE NOW! button, located at MyForexDashboard's toolbar. 2. Now you have successfully activated MyForexDashboard. Click on the OK button. If you receive a message of activation failure, please refer to the TROUBLESHOOTING section at the end of this manual. 3. Please notice that MyForexDashboard toolbar is already installed. Click on it and start using MyForexDashboard! For more information on how to use MyForexDashboard please refer to the USER MANUAL and INTERPRETATION MANUAL, located at MyForexDashboard website members' area. Page 14 of 24

15 3. License management MyForexDashboard provides a YOUR PRODUCTS section within MEMBERS area at the website. Whether you have purchased a new computer and want to transfer your product s license to that computer, have upgraded or restored your computer and need to reinstall, please follow the following instructions. How to RESET MyForexDashboard s software license, for reinstallation purposes 1. Please login to the MEMBERS section of MyForexDashboard at: /members Then, click on YOUR PRODUCTS tab (i). 16 2. Now, you can see all the information about your product s license. If you are reinstalling MyForexDashboard, you must click on RESET LICENSE. Then, check the STATUS which can be found at the last column. If you see it AVAILABLE, you can now reinstall MyForexDashboard. If you reinstall MyForexDashboard and still have any problem, please refer to TROUBLESHOTING section at the end part of this manual. How to RENEW or buy an additional product license? If you want to buy an additional license number of MyForexDashboard and your license will expire within 15 days, you can click on the RENEW link, which will be available at the YOUR PRODUCTS section, in the MEMBERS section of the website: If your license of MyForexDashboard software is not expiring soon but you want to buy an additional one, please contact us! You can do it via to sales@myforexdashboard.com We will be happy to offer you an additional discount for your second purchase of MyForexDashboard Software. 17 4. Updating MyForexDashboard software MyForexDashboard utilizes a Microsoft s technology called ClickOnce, to simplify you the process of updating your purchased license of the software. You only need to have an internet valid connection, and when you are using Microsoft Excel MyForexDashboard will automatically check in a regular basis if a new version is available for download. If an update is found, a Microsoft Office Customization Installer window will appear. You don t have to do anything at this point, but wait a few seconds until the update is installed. This windows will automatically close after the process is completed. NOTE: We recommend you to close and reopen Microsoft Excel, to be sure that the update process is fully completed. Then, you are ready to use the latest version of MyforexDashboard. What is ClickOnce installer? ClickOnce Installer is a technology that MyForexDashboard uses. It is provided by Microsoft, and has been designed to simplify the most both installation and software updates. After you have installed and activated MyForexDashboard software, it will automatically check in a regular basis for software updates, and will automatically install them on your computer. 18 5. Uninstalling MyForexDashboard If by any reason you need to uninstall MyForexDashboard, you can easily doit by following the following step by step process. The Uninstall Step by Step process 1. Please be sure to close Microsoft Excel before you proceed with uninstall process. 2. Click on the Windows START button (i), and Open your Windows CONTROL PANEL (ii). Page 18 of 24

19 Then, double click on ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS (if you are running Windows XP), or PROGRAMS AND FEATURES (if you are running Windows Vista or 7). Windows 7 / Vista: Windows XP: Page 19 of 24

20 3. On the ADD AND REMOVE PROGRAMS window, please find MyForexDashboard (i), click over it, and then press the UNINSTALL (ii) button. 4. A confirmation message will appear. Please click OK to start the Uninstall process. As soon as it finishes (it only takes some seconds to complete), you can close the ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS window. 5. You have completed the uninstall process. Next time you open Microsoft Excel, the MyForexDashboard toolbar will not be present. Page 20 of 24

21 6. Troubleshooting Installation Troubleshooting o installation files' download is taking too long. Why is that? MyForexDashboard installation time can vary, mainly depending on your internet connection speed, and your windows.net current version. The following table illustrates typical download and installation times: Internet Speed* Microsoft.NET Version installed Download Time (EST) 4.0 Mbps 3.5 SP1 40 secs 3.5 and older 7 min 2.0 Mbps 3.5 SP1 1min 20 secs 3.5 and older 15 min 1.0 Mbps 3.5 SP1 2min 40 secs 3.5 and older 30 min o My internet connection speed is fast but the download is taking so much time. What can I do? Please check that Peer To Peer download software is not executing (such as LimeWire, Napster, Torrents, etc ) while you download and install MyForexDashboard. They can affect download speed. o I accidentally pressed the CANCEL button during installation. What should I do? You can run the setup again to start the process again following the Installation Step by Step Process of this manual. o I do not have Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 installed on my computer. How can I run MyForexDashboard? You must have Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 installed in your computer. Any edition is supported, from Home and Student, to Ultimate. Unfortunately, if you don t have Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 you will not be able to install MyForexDashboard. If you have bought MyForexDashboard, but do not have a valid version of Microsoft Excel, you can ask for a full refund, if your license has never been installed or used, and it is within 14 days of purchase. 22 License activation Troubleshooting Error Description On-screen message Product License is being installed on more than one computer. Please remember that you can only have MyForexDashboard installed in one computer at a time. If you want to buy a new license, you can visit our website. Product license is expired. If your license has expired, you can renew it at the members area, or buy a new one in our website. Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. To successfully install MyForexDashboard in your PC, you must have internet connection via Wifi or Ethernet Network card. Page 22 of 24

23 You have typed an invalid license number. Please be sure to write it or copy as it has been informed in your PURCHASE CONFIRMATION Please include all separators, as in the following example: 6AB5D269-D1F5-454F-8C34-B76D8C26HYD0 Internet connection not found. It is required that you have internet connection at the validation process. If you are not connected to internet at the moment of activation you can click CANCEL and next time you open Microsoft Excel you will be able to activate your product license. o I clicked the CLOSE button instead of CONTINUE when I was activating the product. What do I do now to activate it? Simply close Microsoft Excel and Open it again. The activation window will show on-screen. Otherwise look for the Activate Now button on MyForexDashboard's Excel Toolbar. Updating software Troubleshooting o I received an informing about an important update. I opened Microsoft Excel but it seems automatic update has not been executed. What can I do to get the most up-to-date version of MyForexDashboard? MyForexDashboard does check periodically for software updates. Please remember that you need to have a valid internet connection to automatically receive software updates. Anyway if you want to update it manually, you can visit the website members area link: and click on the DOWNLOAD button, in the PRODUCT DOWNLOADS section. Page 23 of 24

24 The update process typically is very fast, and does take from 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on your internet connection speed.
