HOW-TO-GUIDE Installer Service Tool: Downloading Data and Event Logs for the Eltek Theia READ FIRST: In order to run the Installer Service Tool you first need a software license key. These are issued to itek Energy from Eltek and cannot be issued until you call itek Energy Technical Support with the software key unique to each PC. It will take about a day to get a license key from Eltek so please call in advance to avoid delays while performing on-site troubleshooting. SECTION 1: Preparation In order to download data and event logs you will need access to the Ethernet port on the inverter. 1. First turn the DC Disconnect switch on the front of the unit to the OFF (open) position. 2. Remove the front cover and connect your Ethernet cable to the port on the LEFT side of the unit (see figure below) and the other end to your computer. CAUTION: THE DC CONDUCTORS ON THE LOWER TERMINAL BLOCKS MAY STILL BE HOT. PROCEED USING THE APPROPRIATE SAFETY MEASURES. SECTION 2: LAN IP Address Matching In order to download the data and event logs from the Theia inverter the Local Area Network (LAN) IP address on the computer must be in the same range as the static IP address of the inverter. 1. Open the Theia Service Tool. If launched for the first time you will need to enter the provided Software License Key.
2. Click the Find GUI (Click to Refresh) button in the upper left corner of the user interface. You should see a set of inverter settings appear which includes the inverter s IP address. 3. The third set of numbers (192.168.xxx.xxx) determines the range of the IP address. You must match your computer s LAN IP address with this set of numbers. To do so: a. Open Network and Sharing Center window under the Control Panel menu b. Click on Local Area Connection in the Access type Connection area. c. Click on the Properties button
d. Double-Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) e. Select Use the following IP address:
f. Match the first three sets of numbers of the inverter IP address in the space provided. The final set of numbers needs to be different from the final inverter set but within a range of 250 digits. For example, if the last set of inverter numbers is 020 you must enter a unique number within a range of 021-270. g. You may be asked to enter the Subnet Mask as well. This value is as follows: 255.255.255.0 4. Once you ve manually entered in an IP address on your computer that matches the range of the inverter s IP address click OK on each window until you get back to the main Network and Sharing Center window to save these settings. Your computer should now be connected to the inverter via the LAN. SECTION 3: DOWNLOADING DATA AND EVENT LOGS 1. The main Installer Service tool window will look like the image below: 2. Click Find GUI to find the inverter on the Local Area Network (LAN). You should see text appear in the main box. If not, check the Ethernet connection and make sure the cable is properly connected.
3. Click Select to connect the Service Tool to the inverter. The various boxes on the left of the window should populate with details about the inverter. 4. Click on the Logs Tab on the upper menu bar. You will be taken to the following window: 5. In order to download the complete logs it is important to match the Count field with the Last Index field. The Count field will be auto-populated with 20, select this number and match it to the corresponding Last Index field. 6. To download the various logs simply click the corresponding buttons ( Event Log, Data Log, etc) and wait for the data to download. 7. Click Save to File to save the downloaded logs. Congratulations, you ve downloaded the logs off the Eltek Inverter! The logs will be in the.xml format, which can be imported into newer versions of Excel for easy analysis and manipulation.
