MBA CHEERLEADER TRYOUTS GENERAL INFORMATION I. TRYOUTS: A. Practice Sessions: Practice sessions will be held Tuesday, May 5 Thursday, May 7 for preparation for the tryout. Cheers, sidelines, jumps, and dance routine will be taught to those trying out. Tryout material will be taught by the coach and senior cheerleaders. Attendance at the practice sessions is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended. If you are not in attendance, you must give a coach a written explanation of why you are unable to attend the practice. B. Squad Selection: Selection for the squads will be held on Friday, May 8 beginning at 4:00 p.m. Among the panel of judges will be former cheerleaders, qualified instructors, and MBA student officers. This is a closed tryout (i.e., no spectators will be allowed at the tryouts). C. Criteria: Cheerleaders will be evaluated on projection, fundamental skills, and knowledge of tryout material. Although gymnastics/tumbling skills are not required for tryouts, this is a category that will be evaluated. D. Practice Attire: Attire for practice is shorts or skorts, t- shirts, socks and proper shoes. Please do NOT wear any jewelry (rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc). E. Tryout Attire: Attire for those trying out is black or navy blue shorts/skort, white collared polo-type shirts with no logo, socks, and proper shoes. Please do NOT wear any jewelry (rings,

necklaces, bracelets, etc). F. Results: Squads will be posted to the MBA cheerleading website as soon as possible. (www.mbacheer.shutterfly.com, password is stuart ) II. You will not be allowed to go through the selection process without these two forms. III. ELIGIBILITY and COMMITMENT: A. Eligibility requirements: You are eligible to try out for the Freshman Football squad if you are a student in good standing, both academically and in behavior, who will be a freshman at Harpeth Hall or St. Cecilia for the 2015-2016 school year. You must be willing to make the commitment to the squad a priority in your schedule!! C. Penalties: Members who do not abide by the rules will be penalized as they affect the performance of the entire squad. Members who abuse the rules will be replaced or not allowed to try out in the future. If you are suspended from cheering a game, you are still required to attend the game in uniform. Failure to attend a suspension game will result in an additional suspension game. Please consider the schedule carefully BEFORE you try out. D. Quitting: Please take into consideration that trying out for an
