Certificate Program in Strategic Analytics 5 Day Program Introduction The Certificate Program in Strategic Analytics is a 5-day classroom-based program designed for accounting and finance professionals working in financial analysis or decision support roles, as well for those finance professionals interested in the latest analytics concepts, technology and tools. This program will help you provide better, well-informed recommendations, and present them effectively. Many organizations have concentrated on the data accumulation process and have not harnessed the inherent power of the data they have gathered. This program is the next step in the analytic process and will teach you how to manage and deploy analytics. This program will highlight the importance of using data accumulated by your organization, demonstrate analysis tools and techniques, and describe how to use and communicate findings as a means to effectively implement and execute strategic initiatives. Designed as a hands-on interactive program, the course is organized around the use of data mining analysis techniques and models to analyze and support the decision making process. You will be introduced to a variety of business decision modeling techniques, such as Spreadsheet and Database Modeling, Simulation, and Regression Analysis. The program concludes with the analysis and presentation of a group business case to allow the application of techniques learned during the week within the context of real-world business examples. What is a data model, how is a model represented and created. How can data can be used, how does decision support helps various industries. Data Analysis and Business Modeling in Microsoft Excel Formula contruction and auditing Data mining analysis techniques Visually presenting data PivotTables and PivotCharts Statistical analysis Innovative Ideas in Excel Expandable ranges in formulas and charts Working with Arrays Text manipulation Dashboarding with SmartArt Introduction to Databases using Microsoft Access Tables Queries Relationships Forms and Reports Modeling Financial Estimates Simulation Modeling (including Process Simulation). His specialties lie in managing projects to implement solutions, guiding business leaders to make use of their data asset, and developing cost-saving strategies, all with a focus of leveraging analytics to support successful, data-driven decisions. David is an experienced lecturer and trainer, providing classes in Microsoft Excel, Presentation Skills, and Project Management to a wide range of academic programs and corporate clients. Michael Lionais, CMA Mike is the Director, Resource Management with Industry Canada. In this capacity, he leads a team of 30 (mostly accountants) who manage the department s $2.5B budget, $1.5B of which is related to the Economic Action Plan (Budget 2009) stimulus spending.michael has more than 20 years of experience in management accounting, business planning and providing analysis to support strategic decision-making.he graduated from the Royal Military College ofcanada with an Arts (Commerce) Degree.
