Bruntál The town Bruntál is situated in the northeaster part of the Czech Republic in the Moravia -Silesian Area, not far from the Polish border. Bruntál with the number of nearly 18,000 inhabitants lies in the height 547 m above sea level and is called the entrance gate of the Jeseníky Mountains from south-east. Bruntál, the oldest seat with town rights in Bohemia, was founded in 1213. Gabriel s House on the náměstí Míru The historical town centre including the castle area was declared the town historical zone. The Castle Park The pride of the town and the sought after aim of the tourists is the Castle from the 16 th century with a beautiful park, salla terena with terraces, a small lake and a lot of sculptures. It originated in the 2 nd half of the 16 th century from the rebuilt town castle, later it was rebuilt againand it connects the renaissance and baroque style. There is a rich picture collection in the castle, the armoury and library. There are museum expositions and exhibition halls serving to the social and cultural activities. The concert of the cymbalo band in the Castle Park The regular culture activities are the exhibitions in the Museum in Bruntál and in the Club of the Chapel Gallery, lecture and exhibition activities of the Club for Old Bruntál, the classical music concerts of the Club of Music Friends, jazz concerts in the Africa Pub, theatre and film performances. The fans of swimming can use the swimming hall and the town-bathing place in summer. The hikers and bicyclists can use the tourist and cycle tourism routes. Other possibilities offer the sport centre with bowling, squash and ninepins, the lending office for go-karts, tennis courts, the table tennis hall and the skate-park. Bruntál offers various sport activities. In winter there are not only the nearby ski centres Praděd and Karlov, but also the ski lift and the cross-country routes above Bruntál on Uhlířský vrch. Velký Roudný - the extinct volcano at Slezská Harta Uhlířský vrch, an extinct quaternary volcano the height of which is 672m above sea level, is the marked viewpoint of Bruntál. A four-rowed lime tree alley goes to the top, at the end of which the Virgin Mary church stands up. There is a marvellous view to the High Jeseníky Mountains and the Low Jeseníky Mountains.

The valley of the White Opava above Karlova Studánka (Charles Fountain) The spa Karlova Studánka with the collection of wooden spa architecture, the healing springs and the geological exposition belong to the most beautiful places in the Jeseníky Mountains. Praděd, the highest mountain of the Jeseníky Mountains and the whole Moravia offers a magnificent view over the distant area from the view tower on the top. With its height 1492m it is a magnet of tourists in every season of the year.
