Immanuel Baptist Church Student Ministry Student Intern Proposal Primary Function The function of the Student internship is to assist the Student Pastor with ministry endeavors within the Student Ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church of Benton (grades K 6, 7-12). The intern will work under the supervision of the Student Pastor but may do other duties as needed by other ministerial staff. Requirement: The intern must have completed at least one year of college. The intern must have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, while displaying leadership skills and spiritual maturity. They must be willing to not be enrolled in any summer college courses. As well as not taking any vacations during the ten week summer internship (May 27 th August 4 th ). Responsibilities 1. Work with the Student Pastor to assist in planning, coordinating, directing, and working with all ministry efforts concerning Student Ministry. 2. Meet regularly with the Student Pastor for planning, prayer, and scheduling. 3. Keep informed on current methods and materials for use in student ministries. 4. Work with other Staff members of IBC Benton to accomplish overall ministry to the church body. 5. Provide positive leadership to Student Ministry workers and meet with them. 6. Communicate clearly with the Student Pastor and with all the student workers on ministry endeavors. 7. Perform other duties as assigned by the Student Pastor and other ministerial staff, as long as total hours are not compromised. 8. The Student Interns will sign a staff covenant. 9. Student interns will attend New Camp with Youth Ministry. 10. Student interns will help in VBS and/or Extreme Week. 11. Student interns will help coordinate and go on the youth mission trip.
12. Help contact 3x missed students. 13. Student interns will attend all Sunday worship services unless directed otherwise. 14. Work in the office at times with the IBC ministry assistants. Commitment The Student Ministries Intern is expected to fulfill duties as designated by the Student Pastor. Each week a 30- Hour commitment is expected. Specific times during the week can be flexible; however certain times are expected, i.e. Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening. Compensation The student ministry interns will be compensated $2000 for the term of 10 weeks for the summer semester. This will be paid in weekly increments. Any expenses related to this position will be covered (e.g. travel, registration fees, etc.). Housing will be provided in the home of an IBC family.
