1 REMOTE CONTROLLER ACCESS This paper summarizes the installation and configuration procedures needed to enable accessing your Communicator and controllers via the Internet. The information contained in the document is taken from the Communicator and RotemNet manuals. Refer to these documents for complete information. Accessing the Communicator and Platinum Controller via a web browser enables viewing the Platinum Plus/Junior main screen. Accessing the Communicator via RotemNet enables remote management of any controller supported by RotemNet. Figure 1: RotemNet Main Screen 2 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Verify that the following requirements are met before beginning. 2.1 Internet Access To access your system via a web browser requires: Communicator, software version 3.0 and higher Communicator, hardware version 3.1, equipped with a Communicator Ethernet Card Set (P/N: P- COMM-ETH-S) Platinum Plus/Junior Controllers, software version 3.0 and higher Users having Communicator, hardware version 2.3 should contact technical support. 1 Internet Setup
2.2 RotemNet Verify that your PC meets the following requirements: OS: 32-bit or 64-bit* versions of Windows XP and up CPU: o Dual core and up CPU recommended o CPU 2.2 GHz minimum RAM*: o 32-bit systems: 1.5 GB and up o 64-bit systems: 4 GB and up Hard Drive: 150 megabytes available * RotemNet is an in-memory application. Your memory requirements depend on the amount and type of work that your computer runs in parallel. 2 Internet Setup
3 INTERNET AND ROTEMNET CONFIGURATION Refer to the Communicator and RotemNet manuals for complete installation instructions. Verify that the Ethernet cable is attached to the Communicator Ethernet Access Port and Ethernet access device. Verify that the Communicator recognizes the Ethernet card (select SYSTEM > Test > Hardware Profile). If the screen reads NO LINK, there is no Internet connection. If it reads OK, the Internet connection is working. Figure 2: Communicator Ethernet Card and Cable Port 3.1 Setting up the Communicator Internet Connection 1. In the Communicator screen, select SYSTEM > Advanced Setup > Internet > My Account. 2. Write down the Ethernet device serial number (the number being with 1400). 3. On the Ethernet cable port (Figure 2), verify that: the green lights remains on the yellow light blinks 4. Set the Communicator Internet settings. a. In a web browser, go to http://www.myrotem.net. b. In the Account Name field, type Rotem. c. In the Password field, type 1. The Register page appears. d. Fill out all of the fields. When typing the account name, use lower case letters and numbers only! 3 Internet Setup
The Allowed S/N is the Device S/N found in SYSTEM Advanced Setup Internet. If you want to add a picture to your Internet account, click Browse and select the file. e. Type the CAPTCHA letters. f. Click Submit. A confirmation message will be sent to you. 5. In SYSTEM > Advanced Setup > Internet > My Account a In the Name field, type the name. b. In the Account name, type the account name that you chose on the myrotemnet page. c. In the Users field, type the maximum number of users that can simultaneously access the network. d. Click Save. In a web browser, go to http://www.myrotem.net and login using the name and password that you chose. Figure 3 appears If the Communicator is defined correctly, it is displayed on the site with its name and its status is a green circle. If the Communicator is not defined correctly, it does not appear on the screen. The red exclamation mark (!) indicates that the chip is not online. This means that there is a connectivity problem, lost internet connection, or other possible problems. It does not mean that the Communicator is not defined properly. 4 Internet Setup

Enter the house number you need to view by clicking the appropriate number at the top of the screen. 3.2 RotemNet Internet Network Setup Set up a web browser account before setting up a RotemNet Internet account. 1. In the Main Screen, select Setup > Network Setup. The Setup Screen appears. 2. Click. The Add New Record screen appears. Figure 7: Add New Record screen 2. Type the farm name. 3. Type the device serial number; located in the Communicator device under Main Menu > System > Advanced Setup.> Internet > My Account. 4. Type the account name and password used when you registered. 5. Set the number of controllers. All fields are required. 6. Click OK. 3.2.2 Editing a Farm in an Internet Network 1. Select the farm to be edited. 2. Click. Edit the fields as needed. 7 Internet Setup
3.2.3 Deleting a Farm from an Internet Network 1. Select the farm to be deleted 2. Click. Figure 8 appears. 3. Click either Yes to delete it or No to ignore and go back to the Modem Communication screen. Figure 8: Delete Farm window 3.2.4 Connecting to a Farm in an Internet Network 1. Select the farm to which you want to connect. 2. Click. o The RotemNet main screen appears. o If there are any active alarms, they appear when the connection is made. 3.2.5 Disconnecting from a Farm in an Internet Network Click to disconnect a remote connection. 8 Internet Setup
