11. Playing back the recordings - what kind of problems did you have? Har hatt problemer med å spille av på nett. itunes funker bra. Går heller ikke ann å spille dobbel hastighet eller fullscreen på nett. Utrolig vanskelig å finne frem i filmarkivet deres. The fact that you can't jump back and forth within the recording, unless it's fully buffered, is a major drawback. (If you are interested in repeating only one part of the lecture, or you accidently close the window during playback) I didn`t have access to the lectures from from my computer at work, I had to bring with me my laptop I could not start them a couple of times. it does not work sometimes Problems with login from external computers ingen lyd Har flere ganger opplevd at innlastningen stopper på 100%, så "låser" nettleseren seg. Må da stenge ned nettleseren, og gå inn på nytt. Samme problem bruker da å gjenta seg hvis jeg forsøker på nytt. Kan fungere greit neste dag. I only had access to the lecture videos from the pc at my hospital, not from my personal computer, even if I had access to "innsida"and it`s learning from my personal computer. It stopped loading, I couldn't go back and forth in the track, even if my Internet connection was good. they could not be downloaded to stream. This means that if one wanted to watch them one had to have very fast internet. My recommandation is to have a 'palyer' that makes it possible to download the contant - like a You Tube Video - to use when internet is slow - like mine were studying online from South Africa. Another thing that might make this questionary bias is that the anwser alternatives does not have options for people studying online. 18. Do you have any comments, feedback or ideas for us? For me these lectures were both a good and a bad thing. Good because I can alwaysgo back and look at a special subject if I forgot something. Bad because I started skipping lectures because I could just watch the videos and now that the actual lectures have ended I have many video lectures left to watch. Mediasite er utrolig dårlig. Det er dårlig kvalitet, du kan kun ha en video åpen av gangen og det krever 3. part program. HTML5! Det bør være mulighet til å spole frem og tilbake i videoen. Slik det er nå (hvertfall for meg) så kan jeg kun trykke på play/pause og kan ikke bruke "progress-bar" til å velge hvor langt frem i videoen jeg vil se. Enable full support for jumping back and forth within playbacks, regardless of buffering. (Youtube is a good example) The recording itself is horrible. The camera does not cover the blackboard good enough. A lot of information goes missing. The quality is very bad. It is almost so bad that I prefere to just listen to the audio as a podcast instead. I wish they have this for every subject, especially for mathematical kind of subjects. It is very useful for me to watch the videos. Thanks to those who took the videos! If you can also record the sound when students asking questions, it will be better. In the question wheter I skipped lectures because of the recordings, I answered that I skipped almost all lectures. But his wasn't because of the recordings, but other circumstances that prevented me from attending. In such case, the recordings gave me the opportunity to still follow the course. The shadow under the video is annoying Det er lenge siden jeg så en av videoene nå, men mener å huske at det var vanskelig å starte midt i en film. Så det kunne dere kanskje gjort bedre. It was very very helpful to me. Since I am writing my master thesis, I did not get to attend all classes but these videos have helped me a lot to prepare for the exams. Thank you again. Great job!!! i have a lot of positive comments: the quality is so good, the idea is very good, to get a better product i think you can improve the size of the recording, let said to have the same size that the slides have, the quality of the sound when the teacher speaks is very good, i do not know how easier is improve the quality of the sound when an student ask something, because when you hear it is not so good. As the product has so good quality, sometimes the students think that there is not reason to go to the lecture, because it will be recorded at the end, this is an aspect to improve, maybe those lectures videotaped should have compulsory assistance, or every lecture give a password to the student in the lecture to see the lectures, something like that I stongly hope you will extend the video coverage to other subjects as well! :) Synes det burde gå an å justere avspillingshastighet, slik at man kan se 2 forelesninger i løpet av en time feks.. I am located in Ålesund= and viewing the recordings has been my only option in order to follow the lectures- which has worked well! You should inform that it's possible to watch it in e.g. itunes U, and if it's possible to download instead of streaming, this should also be informed of! Streaming isn't always very practical, and especially not if you're internet connection is bad. Sometimes it seemed like the camera person didn't pay attention, because he/she didn't follow the lecturer at all the time, and turned the camera too late so that I couldn't read what was written on the blackboard at the time. That's annoying, because one of the things I like best about the recorded lectures is that you can stop them at any time to take better notes from the blackboard. I think it's good to have the recordings available, even when I don't use them, because it makes me less afraid of getting ill or being busy during lectures. Godt initsiativ! I could watch the lectures in peace and quiet back home. I do need hearing aids during the day, so I have never get so much out of lectures before, as this. thanks too all! Jeg er kjempefornøyd med video forelesningene og studiet. Relevant i jobben jeg har som sykepleier på barneavd. Det skapte engasjement, og inspirasjon til å reise til Afrika. Var litt tilfeldig at jeg fikk informasjon om at studiet fantes. Jeg tror det er mange sykepleier som kan ha stor glede av det. Så dere kunne sikkert fått økt søkertall ved å fokusere på PR/reklame. I'm an internetstudent and therefore I didn't really skip any lectures, I just never had the chance to be there:) 2. When a question is asked during the lecture, the teacher should repeat the question because the mic doesn t record the rest of the room, and we have no idea what the teacher is answering. Just that for me, the reason why i choose the course in the first place, was the videoes, as i dont live in Trondheim, so i took the course from another city. I didnt have the chance to see the lecturs live, so it was very helpful for me to have it on video. The questions regarding skipping lectures make no sense to me, as long as i was an online student, studying from abroad. Put the videos on Itunes U thus there will be also some videos in english. And the course I chose was very interesting! So I guess other students or people all over the world could be interested and in a way more people can know about quality issues and know how to solve them. 20. Other reasons? I went to all the lectures, but am very positive to the recordings, if you are going away while lectures are going on, and similar, the recordings are superb! I would very much like them in the math-courses as well 20

27. Do you have any ideas on how one can use video recording of lectures to improve learning? I think it should be given better information about the possibilities, I think several lectures do not know about this. Bør være greit tilgjengelig for studenter som tar kurset i årene etter. The videoes gives me the oportunity to focus more on examples and excersises in class as the students can see some of the thery on the web next year. 27
