Intensive English Language Preparation offered by the University of Montana s English Language Institute The University of Montana offers advanced intensive language preparation programs for students interested in pursuing the Project Specialist or System Administrator certificate programs whose English language proficiency score at the time the application is slightly below the admission requirements. Students study English at the English Language Institute (ELI) for 20 hours a week during the spring semester and 26 hours during the summer term. Students' classes include the study of all language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing, and understanding) as well as lessons in grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary development, cross-cultural issues and integrated skills.
