Definition: The Spanish Defence Library Network (SDLN) is constituted by all libraries and documentation centres of the Ministry of Defence and its autonomous departments. (Art. 4 the Law of Libraries of the Ministry of Defence) 3
Target The Spanish Defence Library Network is the union of the libraries whose main goal is the preservation, promotion and the access to bibliographic heritage of the Ministry of Defence and also to guarantee the best use of library and documentary resources through coordination and cooperation between its members. 4
Goals of the Spanish Defence Library Network: Promote and facilitate the preservation, access and promotion of the Bibliographic Heritage of the Ministry of Defence Upgrade the use of libraries of the Ministry of Defence Support the need for updating and training of librarians Assure the best use of libraries and documentary resources by cooperation and coordination Facilitate the exchange of experiences and communication between libraries Represent the interests of the libraries of the Ministry of Defence 5
