Testing and Assignment Requirements You will be required to successfully complete numerous online exams and other assignments with a minimum passing score of 70% for each. Should you fail an exam you will have two (2) additional opportunities to successfully complete the exam/assignment. There are currently a total of 812 questions covering the various subjects. Additional assignments and exams relating to a specific topic areas and updates may be added. Some questions are very lengthy and are designed to provide understanding of the topic prior to questioning. Prior review of all course curriculums is important for the successful completion of the course. The estimated time to successfully complete this program is 200+ hours, which will include your class review, instructor/coordinator meetings, online assignments, and final review/testing. Once you have successfully completed the 1018 SPOC all assignments program you will be required to participate in three days of finals and review of the curriculum covered in the Basic Peace Officer Course (BPOC). This review and finals session will cover all segments of the BPOC, so again review of all course material will be beneficial to you. The three days of finals and review will be scheduled once you have successfully completed all assignments and objectives of the 1018 course. The BPOC finals and review are not provided online and will require classroom attendance. Again, this will be scheduled once you have completed the online course format. Once you log into the testing site with the user ID and password you have been assigned, you will see available options for online exams and/or other assignments that are to be completed. You must read the assignments instructions carefully; there are restrictions you need to be aware of. Important Information: Once you are logged into the testing site, CLOSE and exit all other programs. Other sites may and often do interfere with the testing program. If you lose internet connection or get bumped out you cannot restart an exam, until the exam is reset. There is a NO EXCEPTIONS rule for completing the tests. This means if for any reason, i.e., computer malfunction, loss of internet connection, or anything that prevents you from completing an exam or assignment, each log-in will count as an attempt to complete the assignment or exam. It is suggested that you have a copy of the course materials and Texas Statutes available for quick review during the exams and assignment. You may use all your resource material during the assignments. Note: It is very important that you review the material prior to starting an exam. Each online exam is timed and questions are randomized. You may be logged out without completing an exam if you take too much time. You will not receive credit for unanswered questions should you be logged out automatically. Collin County Law Enforcement Academy Page 4

Once you have been logged out of an exam you cannot re-open the exam, unless and until additional opportunities are provided. Once you have opened an exam or assignment you will see your first question, select the best answer and move on to the next question. You will often have only one opportunity to select your answer; you may not be given the opportunity to go back and change your answer. Once you have completed an exam you will be automatically notified if you passed or failed. Should you have serious difficulties with any assignment you need contact your coordinator and schedule a meeting. You successfully complete and receive a passing score on all assignments to successfully complete the course. You will not be able to see if you answered a question correctly or incorrectly. Therefore it is recommended that you highlight your research material (Texas Statutes) during your review. Again, you will have three opportunities to successfully complete each exam assigned to the 1018 course. IMPORTANT NOTE: Course 3181 is a ONE attempt course. You will have only one opportunity to successfully complete this course. Should you be unsuccessful in completing the course or do not complete the course in the allotted time, you will be required to re-register for the course again. Final and Review Attendance is mandatory. Feel free to contact me at anytime during the course if you need assistance.
