IPC Athletics Designations of Competitions 2013-2016 1. Paralympic Games (PG) 2. World Championships (WC) 3. Regional Championships (RC) 5.IPC Athletics Approved International and National Competitions 6. IPC Athletics IAAF/NF Endorsed Competitions IPC Athletics undertake a Competition Management role to deliver competition opportunities for athletes across the regions. The above competitions are together referred to as Recognized Competitions. Designations of IPC Athletics Competitions: 1. Paralympic Games (PG) 2. World Championships (WC) 3. Regional Championships (RC) 4. IPC Athletics Approved International and National Competitions IPC Athletics Approved International and National Competitions are competitions for athletes with a disability (or where these events form part of a wider programme). NPCs/Organizing Committees must complete an application form (see appendix 1) and return to IPC Athletics along with a certified track certificate (or road course) issued by the IAAF/NF for the respective venue a minimum of ninety (90) days in advance of the scheduled competition start date. The application form must be verified by the respective NPC. Upon approval of the competition, an IPC Athletics Technical Delegate(s) will be appointed by IPC Athletics. It is the responsibility of the Organizing Committee to cover all expenses of the allocated TD, including travel, accommodation, food and per diems. All results must be sent to IPC Athletics within two weeks of the competition end date using the IPC Athletics approved template, including a set of original results or link to the results page. Further technical requirements can be found on the application form (appendix 1). 3

5. IPC Athletics IAAF/NF Endorsed Competitions IPC Athletics Endorsed Competitions are IAAF/NF able bodied track & field or road competitions in which athletes with a disability may compete and their results will be recognized for IPC Athletics Rankings. A notification form (see appendix 2) must be submitted to IPC Athletics not later than 15 (fifteen) days in advance of the scheduled competition start date. An NPC may submit a notification form for a competition taking place outside their country of origin for the purpose of having the competition reviewed for approval. It is the responsibility of the NPC to ensure the results are submitted within two weeks of the competition end date using the IPC Athletics approved template, including a set of original results or link to the results page. During the 2013 season, IPC Athletics will recognize five (5) IAAF/NF endorsed competitions free of charge per NPC. Once exceeding this number, NPC s must purchase a competition package, allowing NPC s to have a number of IAAF/NF Competitions recognized by IPC Athletics. NPC s must complete the competition package request form (appendix 3) return to IPC Athletics: ipcathletics@paralympic.org. Once received, IPC Athletics will invoice the NPC for the respective package fee. Payment must be received by IPC Athletics before approval of IAAF/NF competitions. 4

Appendix 1: IPC Athletics Approved International and National Competition Notes: a) Application Forms should be submitted to IPC Athletics a minimum of ninety (90) days in advance of the scheduled competition. b) Athletes must be licensed prior to the start of the competition to be eligible for the IPC Athletics World Ranking List and World or Regional Records. c) 200 fee per competition will be invoiced by IPC Athletics and full payment must be received two (2) weeks prior to the competition start date. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS An IPC Athletics certified Technical Delegate must be assigned to the approved competition. A certified track certificate (or road course) issued by IAAF/NF must be included for the respective competition venue (or race course). All events must be held in accord with current IPC Athletics Rules and Regulations. All events must be officiated by recognized National Technical Officials The events list and schedule must be forwarded to IPC Athletics subsequent to the competition approval. All field events must be measured and recorded in metric measurements. Automatic timing system is required for 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m. 100m, 200m, Long Jump and Triple Jump results must include wind speeds. ANTI-DOPING Doping control must be available at competitions for World and Regional records to be considered. The doping control programmes are run under the jurisdiction of the National Anti-Doping Organization (NADO) and as such the national anti-doping rules shall apply, not the IPC Anti- Doping Code. It is the responsibility of the NADO (through the appointed doping control officer) to develop a test distribution plan and organize the testing. RESULTS MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS All results must be sent to IPC Athletics within two weeks of the competition end date in a specific template that can be found on the IPC Athletics website.
