Students will have an pprtunity t examine varius cmpnents including: rganizatinal management, marketing, business wnership, ethics, strategy, and leadership principles in the sprts and event management arena. By studying bth the American and Eurpean markets, students will be prepared t face the challenges and pprtunities faced by business managers within the cntext f sprt management and event management as a whle. The curse will be cnducted in a real wrld applicatin style, thrugh activities in the industry, guest speakers, case studies, and site visits in the field. Prerequisites Nne Required

Student Assessments Students assessments will be evaluated based n guidelines presented t students prir t submissin f assessment and all assessments will be returned fr purpses f feedback. Frm time t time, student assignments r prjects will be retained by ESAC Management fr the purpse f academic assessment. In every case, shuld the assignment r prject be shared, the student will be ntified and all persnal infrmatin will be remved (including names and identificatin infrmatin)

Curse Plicies Absenteeism If yu miss class yu are respnsible fr btaining the materials and infrmatin yu missed during the class. N late hmewrk will be accepted unless prir apprval t miss class is btained frm the instructr. An excess f 2 classes r mre will result in a reductin f marks and can include failure if it exceeds 4 absences. Makeup assessments will be scheduled nly if arranged in advance f the scheduled due date. Submissin f Assignments LATE ASSIGNMENTS: Assignments submitted within the first 30 minutes f the deadline are marked ut f 100%. Assignments submitted after the deadline, but within the first 30 minutes f the next class, marked ut f 90%. Assignments submitted after the next class will nt be accepted and will receive a 0%. There are n exceptins. ASSIGNMENTS, CASE STUDIES & QUIZES: Cnsists f readings, case studies, presentatins and instructin f fellw students. A full assignment brief and marking scheme will be prvided t each student fr each assignment. SITE VISIT WRITE UPS: Yu must cmplete a tw page summary f 3 ut f the fur independent site visits during the curse. Include a summary f yur discussins while n the site visits. (See site visit guidance ) EXAMS: There will be ne final exam which will cnsist f a cmprehensive evaluatin f the entire curse. ANALYSIS ASSIGNMENT: Cmparative analysis assignment in rder t develp a critical analysis f a real wrld sprts and event management rganizatins effrt and/r campaigns. A prtfli will be created in rder t critically assess varius aspects f sprts and event management. T be submitted in the final week f the curse. SPORTS / EVENT MANAGEMENT PROJECT: Yu will have an pprtunity t fcus n creating, evaluating and analyzing the prcess and planning f a specific event frm a managerial and marketing perspective.
