Huawei Smart Education Education is often a reliable indicator of a country's comprehensive national power. To improve education quality and efficiency, ICT-enabled systems must be developed between regions and schools. Against this backdrop, Huawei is determined to partner with education experts worldwide and offer four education-specific ICT solutions: education cloud, digital campus, interactive classroom, and ebag. The education cloud uses industry-leading cloud technologies to promote the resource sharing. The digital campus integrates a variety of systems or applications, including wired, wireless, broadcasting, TV, and teaching management into one IP network, reducing construction and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) costs. The interactive classroom uses innovative teaching approaches based on HD and interactive communication. ebag offers a healthy, convenient study environment founded on the unified management of a wide assortment of terminals and devices. Solution Overview Huawei offers a variety of infrastructures, including servers, storage devices, and network devices. Huawei's extensive experience with cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing, cloud storage, and cloud network offers secure and stable platforms for application software deployment and organizational operation. In addition, Huawei's flagship visual management and security architecture help regional education organizations and schools manage education resources so as to achieve enhanced operation efficiency. Cloud platform Education Informatization: Education Cloud Resource sharing Application platform Education cloud platform Teaching video esdk Collaboration Desktop office and communication Cloud computing platform architecture Distributed file system Virtual campus stations Traditionally, school buildings are the basic units of ICT-enabled system construction, which results in disperse, duplicate construction, segmented education resources, and poor interdepartmental collaboration. Against this backdrop, educational organizations and schools are transforming the school-based mode to region-wide construction. Regional education informatization construction consolidates region-wide high-quality education resources, promotes region-wide education resource sharing, and further enhances education quality. Regional education informatization means cooperation and collaboration across schools and departments. It integrates a wide assortment of applications and services, such as teaching administration, resource sharing, online learning, and online training. To achieve regional education informatization, many challenges must be addressed: The regional information center must support a large number of concurrent access requirements, leading higher requirements for network, storage, and security system performance. The egress bandwidth of schools is insufficient, demanding a comprehensive upgrade of regional networks. Service systems, such as the student information database, teacher information database, and digital campus management platform, must be uniformly constructed. Management systems must be capable of exchanging data with one another. Solution Overview Huawei Smart Campus focuses on the campus network and enables unified, refined management of wired and wireless networks and devices. In Huawei's solution, the entire network supports both IPv6 and IPv4, helping customers transform their networks to pure IPv6 networks and allowing unified management of devices from different vendors. Huawei's solution uses one single network to carry a variety of campus applications and systems. In addition, to enable students and teachers with free and easy access to the education cloud and classroom resources, Huawei offers an integrated classroom device. The integrated device integrates the wireless network, remote teaching, teaching PC, and control terminal, reducing network complexity and improving teaching efficiency. Huawei's ebag solution provides a full set of network security and device management policies. It provides unified access for different types of terminals and uniformly manages policies and devices, assuring students of a secure, healthy network environment. Campus Informatization: Smart Campus Solution With the growing popularity of education informatization and increasing maturity of cloud computing, Internet, and smart devices, information technologies have penetrated every aspect of campus life. Information technologies have become a pillar of supporting a wide range of application services covering everything from teaching and research to management and daily life. This lays solid ground for communication and collaboration. Campus information systems require high-quality network environments. Campus networks carry a complex set of services, such as office automation (OA), teaching systems, and student management systems. The operation of campus networks must be stable and reliable. In addition, these systems must provide integrated audio, video, and data communication for students and teachers, maximizing faculty reserves and extending quality resources to a larger number of students. Remote education and network-based education demand stable, reliable networks to enable cross-school communication. The cross-school education helps schools enhance its presence. With wireless technologies, students can access internal resources and the Internet anytime and anywhere (in the campus, library, and classroom). To address these requirements, education organizations and schools request an end-to-end campus network solution that integrates WLAN, authentication and billing, and IPv6 technologies. Highlights Efficient Reliable Energy-saving Flexible authentication and billing Security control Refined management Provides differentiated access and egress authentication depending on the user and access type Supports flexible billing policies Ensures campus network security and services with anti-attack capabilities Provides in-depth packet identification function, manages and controls a wide array of applications and services, and offers multiple points of egress to carry traffic in load balancing mode Unified management of campus networks Centralized services Continued services Proactive security protection Convergent architecture simplifies campus information management and enables agile operation Maximized resource usage Full compatibility to save construction costs Energy-saving and environmental friendliness Wired and wireless integration Uniformly controls and manages high-density Wi-Fi access services and uniformly authenticates both wired and wireless users Support for multiple services Supports multiple services including unicast and multicast for IPv4/IPv6 dual stack users and ensures the stable operation of mission-critical services, offering a multifunctional bearer network for campuses 04 05
