Aims of the TASC CRN Service Improve awareness by raising the profile of CRN and sharing the benefits of having a strong and effective service to key stakeholders Ensure CRNs have a professional development plan, clear supervisory arrangements, a line of professional accountability and access to clinical skills development, education and training opportunities Increase clinical research capacity and improve research opportunities for patients and the public
Where we are... Employment Recruitment process resulting in the consistent and efficient recruitment of CRNs, improving efficiency and continuity in the conduct of studies Improved job security for CRNs An established adaptable well trained and experienced workforce UoD CRN Professional Registration Policy - work in progress

Raising the profile of Clinical Research Nursing CRNs who have maintained posts with service delivery areas eg Renal Anaemia Clinic, CF Nurse Specialists, a CRN who banks in clinical areas where she is involved with studies. CRN presence at MDT Meetings eg Oncology, Gastrointestinal, Stroke, Vascular CRNs with a work base in clinical area e.g stroke, haematology, oncology CRN Manager interaction with HoN, Associate Directors of Nursing? CRF Open Day Stand at PIP on the concourse? Next Year- Job Fair Stand
The Future... Development of a TASC Clinical Research Nursing strategy- Link to The Healthcare Quality Strategy for Scotland, CSO Research Strategy, TASC Research Strategy, Enhance patients experience use of participant feedback, PPI, use of social media and technology to develop innovative ways of engaging with potential research participants To continue to improve standards of research delivery and practise use of competency framework
