Getting Started with Automizy
The Basics To help you get started, this guide will show you exactly how simple it is to use Automizy to combine automated multi-channel communication into your overall marketing strategy. Automizy is a web based application that works in most web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 9 or greater and Safari 6.0) which means you don t need to download or install any new software on your computer. To make sure that Automizy works properly in your browser, you should enable cookies, pop-ups and JavaScript. Implementation tips Automizy is built for email marketing, we are required to enforce spam laws. This means you must include an unsubscribe link in your campaigns. Make sure the intent of the signup form is clearly stated. All potential subscribers should understand that, by submitting their contact information through the form, they are agreeing to receive email from you. Email addresses collected verbally, from personal address books, from business cards, or from social media/linkedin followers are not considered viable opt-in methods, due to their lack of tangible, verifiable proof of consent. While it s generally okay to add existing customers to a bulk mailing list, they must be recent customers or customers that have already been regularly receiving emails from you. Only use addresses that have requested to be added to a list. 1
Creating and importing list The first and most important step in any successful marketing campaign is to have some people to read it in the first place! A great email marketing is a clean and updated list of email contacts, who we call subscribers. When you create a segment in Automizy, you re forced to input default information, like who your emails come from and how your subscribers got on your list. The flexibility of your list is dependent on how it is created, imported, and maintained in Automizy. With the right data and organization, you can segment subscribers based on a variety of criteria. Take a moment to think about your email marketing goals, who your audiences are, and what information is relevant to each audience. Segments allow you to speak more directly to specific sets of subscribers, which can help campaigns feel more like a conversation, and less like just blasting everyone. For example, create segments, based on when someone joined your list, where they signed up, and either they opened your campaign or not. There is three ways in Automizy to add new subsribers to your list. Paste or type in subscriber contact information Upload from a spreadsheet With Sign up forms (can be found in Capture module) 2
To import your list follow the steps below Navigate to Contact / Complete list 3
Import contacts (Automizy supports CSV files only. A CSV is a comma separated values file, which allows data to be saved in a table structured format. CSV files can be used with any spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel, Open Office Calc, or Google Spreadsheets. They differ from other spreadsheet file types in that you can only have a single sheet in a file, they cannot save cell, column, or row styling, and cannot save formulas.) 4
Import file Click either Add to segment if you want this list to be added to an already exist segment or you can create a new one. Click to Start import 5
NOTE! If you receive an error message while you are trying to import your list then there is a great possibility that your character encoding is not in correct status. Follow the next steps to modify it: o Navigate to Settings o Regional o Change the Character encoding to UTF-8 6
Add new contacts to your list Navigate to Contacts/ Complete list New Contact Fill out the seen fields If you want to be able to have a more focused, personalized and informed campaign, you would want to be able to learn more about your contacts (names, locations, birthday, etc.). When it s time to design your campaign, you will find the great Drag & Drop editor, which makes it simple to add, move, delete and style content blocks. When you re done setting up your campaign, you ll then have the option to send the campaign immediately or schedule it to send at a later date or time.
