1 Convention Centre The suitable choice Lugano's elegant and modern Convention Centre is centrally located, right next to the splendid municipal park, Parco Ciani and its homonymous villa, directly on the lake shore. The centre is located within easy walking distance of many hotels, shops and attractions. Eminently userfriendly for events of all kinds, it is equipped with the most up-to-date technology and fully air-conditioned. An amphitheatre for 1,10 persons, break-out rooms with dividing walls, a banquet room for 850 persons and a large exhibition area (1,50 + 80 m²) offer the ideal location for meetings, workshops, seminars, conventions, banquets, exhibitions and shows. 80 parking spaces are available in front of the Convention Centre. Il Ciani The cradle of Lugano where events come to life The historical building dates back to the 19th century and is located on a property of about 4 000 square meters enriched by the presence of century old trees. The two-floor structure contains about ten meeting rooms of between 10 and 60 square meters. On the ground floor in the middle of the building, there is a patio of 80 square meters, ideal for all kind of events. The peculiarity of its pyramid-shaped skylight in glass and metal and the decoration of the round arches and beautiful wooden floor make it a unique venue. The patio is surrounded by a series of rooms that can be used for small meetings, exhibitions and conferences. All the meeting rooms enjoy natural sunlight. 1 Entertainment A city of enchantment Lugano in the evening and at night offers gorgeous walks along the lake while admiring the mountains in the background and the historical buildings that are mirrored in the gulf. Everywhere there are restaurants, bars, discotheques and clubs that are there just waiting to be discovered. In such a small area there is the choice among three high standard casinos, created not only for gambling, but for spending a pleasant evening with quality entertainment. As a result, the region has become a major cultural centre, exerting an influence beyond its own borders. There are cultural events and activities going on virtually all year round, in towns and villages throughout the area. 5 1 4 Geographic position Easily accessible Lugano is extremely easy to reach by several means of public transportation (railroad, scheduled flights, etc.) and also by means of private transport (cars, charter flights, etc.). Lugano is situated in the South of Ticino, a Swiss alpine Canton in strategic geographic position, directly on the North- South international axis of the St. Gotthard route (Milan-Lugano-Zurich). The Lugano Airport, situated 6 km from the city centre, ensures fast daily connections between Ticino and the main Swiss centres Zurich and Geneva.
