Ticket Reader with real time clock and magnetic encoding Order number: TL-31 The Ticket Reader TL 31 consists of the multifunctional MODPARK ticket modules integrated into a housing, which is well suited for passenger car access control applications like car park systems. The unit reads magnetically encoded tickets, reads long term parker cards and other special tickets. The unit can be adapted to a wide variety of peripheral signals on site. It can drive virtually all barriers on the market. A passage can be controlled automatically, manually or centrally. Antipassback, illegal backout and barrier condition monitoring are possible with the unit. In a normal operation an induction loop in the driveway indicates via a vehicle detector the approach of a vehicle. This enables the unit. An inserted ticket or magnetic card will be read and evaluated. For a valid ticket, the passage will be set free. A valid long term parker card will be handed back. When the card is removed, the passage is set free. After the passage, the reading unit starts a new cycle. If a ticket or a card is invalid, the reason is indicated on the display and the ticket or card is handed back. The control can be with anti-passback. The validity is limited by an expiry date, several timezones, access level and parking area. All movements are reported to a central computer. Page 1/5
FUNCTIONS Tickets accepted congress tickets (option) stored value tickets: may be used like a permanent parking ticket. The display shows the max possible parking time (option) permanent parking ticket (option) credit card, EC-cards: read cards and report their passage to the central computer (option) Procedure, if card is not introduced with the magnetic strip in the correct position: Verify that magnetic strip is present, if not display: "Revers ticket" If signals from magnetic strip are there, but cannot be interpreted, display: "Ticket illegible" Backout ticket supervision (option) Deal with external openings of the barrier without generating an alarm (option) The ticket may be printed with 10 lines of 20 (30) characters of variable data. All parameters may be changed from the central computer. All operating conditions may be requested by the central computer. Major misoperations and failures are reported to the CC. The communication to the CC is via serial data lines, which may be shared by 31 units. Operation status: Autonomous not connected to central Autonomous connected to CC which acts as data collection unit and/or as control unit. Direct control from CC.
