There s no need to feel alone because there are agencies out there that can help. All you need to do is call them. Substance Misuse: Substance misuse can wreck lives and harm communities. It is a complex problem, which can be linked to crime, poverty, homelessness, the break-up of families and the deterioration in health or even death of the individual who engages in it. Drug & Alcohol Services There are numerous agencies operating in the Caerphilly county borough, offering help and support to anyone affected by substance misuse. Caerphilly Social Services Drug & Alcohol Team Provides a service to people over 18 with a substance misuse problem. All referrals must be made through the Adult Services Duty and Information Team (ASDIT) on 0808 100 2500. Drugaid Drugaid is a registered charity offering a range of therapeutic and information services, including assessment, information and advice, relapse prevention and rehabilitation programmes and support groups for ex drug and alcohol users. Tel: (029) 20 881000 HOME DETOX SERVICE The Alcohol Home Detox Service provides alcohol-dependant residents with a community based medical and therapeutic intervention, which within a 10-week programme has the aim of helping to make and maintain positive changes in participants alcohol use. OPEN ACCESS ALCOHOL SERVICES The alcohol service provides effective treatment to both reduce the harm caused through alcohol consumption and increase the individuals access to more rewarding lives. This service provides information, advice, counselling and support services to alcohol users and concerned others. GWENT OPEN ACCESS LOCAL SERVICES (GOALS) This service is for drug and alcohol users who live in Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen and Monmouthshire. This is a new and innovative service, designed to address the needs of those individuals experiencing problems as a result of their substance misuse. Made up of five statutory organisations Caerphilly County Borough Council, Gwent Police, Caerphilly Teaching Local Health Board, South Wales Fire and Rescue Authority and Gwent Police Authority the partnership addresses crime, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse and the fear of crime in the local area.
