DEGREES OFFERED ON CAMPUS AND ONLINE Bachelor of Organizational Leadership (BOLS) The purpose of the Bachelor of Organizational Leadership (BOLS) program is to provide leadership skills based on Christian principles, increase interpersonal skills and employee relations skills that are required of leaders, enhance communication skills needed by leaders, and expand skills in one s chosen career path. The curriculum has two options. One is a degree completion option for those with an associate s degree. The other is for those without a degree. Both options are available online or on campus. The program is intended to supplement one s technical skills and work experience with leadership and people skills. Program Details The degree completion option for BOLS requires the following: Completion of approved associate s degree (a maximum of 64 semester hours transferred from an institution that awards only the associate s degree); a minimum of 56 semester hours from a senior college or university; a minimum of 45 semester hours of upper division course; a minimum of 36 semester hours from Anderson University; a minimum of 36 semester hours of general education courses to include communications, statistics, literature, humanities, fine arts, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, and Christian Studies. The option for those without an associate s degree or higher requires the following: General Education (36 semester hours) courses in communications, literature, humanities, fine arts, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, math, and Christian Studies. These are viewed as being the liberal arts component of a degree and are foundational to upper division courses. Both options require: OLS Core (36 semester hours) courses in organizational leadership, management, psychology, sociology, communications and computer information systems, management, organizational leadership, psychology, and sociology. Major Electives (12 semester hours) upper level courses that permit a student to take additional work in the specialized areas of computer information systems, management, organizational leadership, psychology, and sociology. General Electives (Sufficient hours to complete requirement for 120 hours for the degree) courses that permit a student to take additional work in subjects that interest them and that will be helpful in their careers. About Anderson University History Anderson University traces its origins back to 1911, when it was chartered as a four-year college for women. Public-minded citizens of Anderson, South Carolina, wanted a college to be established in the growing area since a previous institution, The Johnson Female University had closed during the Civil War. FAQs 1. How do I prepare for online courses? For your convenience, we offer a student training presentation that provides instructions on how to take an online course. The presentation is available upon request. 2. How will I access my online course? Enrolled students will receive a login ID and password. Upon entering the ID and password in the login window, students will be able to access their online class, view course information or retrieve their academic records. 3. Will I have face-to-face meetings with my professor? Online courses are delivered entirely through the Internet. However, students can visit the campus and meet with professors during office hours if desired. 4. Will I have access to library resources? Our library resources and services are available to all faculty and students wherever the programs or courses are located and however they are delivered. 5. How do I get help if I cannot access my online course? Anderson University provides all online students with access to our Online Student Help Desk via telephone Monday-Friday 8:30AM-10PM (EST) or via an online work request.
