Computer professionals may deal with hardware, software, networks, security or administration. Career Options Careers range from tech support to programming, to systems security and administration, and include specialty areas like computer graphics,website development and administration, and games development. Income Range The Department of Labor reports the annual income ranges from $28,980 for an entry-level technician to $125,660 for computer systems managers. Career Advancement Individuals can advance through additional education and training, specializing in an area of interest, and by staying current with the developments and trends in the industry. About the Program MCC s programs in computer related fields are designed to prepare graduates for entry-level work in various areas, or to provide the foundation for a bachelor s degree in computer information systems.
2 Programming and Game Development Certificate The Programming and Game Development Certificate presents introductory programming theory, logic, and design concepts common to all programming languages. This certificate prepares students for entry level employment with basic programming courses and provides a solid foundation of syntax to be successful in subsequent programming courses. Many of these courses successfully completed in this certificate program can apply to the Computer Systems Administration Associate of Applied Science Degree. These institutions offer seamless transfer of most MCC credits and programs to bachelor degree programs. In many instances, students also have the opportunity to continue their education with programs that lead to master and doctoral degrees.
