LexisNexis Prospect Portfolio Overview LexisNexis Prospect Portfolio is a web-based product, available as a standalone application or within Salesforce.com that allows Sales Professionals to: Grow your business by building new sales leads with our intuitive and easy to use list-generation tools Cultivate the business you already have, using the extensive, relevant and timely information contained in our company and people snapshots and Alerts. You can use LexisNexis Prospect Portfolio to: Create targeted lists of prospects (companies or people) based on criteria that is most relevant to you such as geography, industry, revenue, etc. with fast, easy download to either spreadsheet format or your Salesforce.com application. Create company or people snapshots with key information such as company phone number, business description, key executives, etc. Run News searches to learn more about specific topics of interest Create Alerts on Company or People of interest Save your history for easy access and to easily set Alerts Research Recent News to research news impacting your business. Supplement your Salesforce.com account records with robust company, executive and industry information, as well as leads you generate through Prospect Portfolio. Accessing Prospect Portfolio To easily fit the workflow of Sales Professionals, Prospect Portfolio is available as either a stand-alone web-based application or it can be automatically integrated with your Salesforce.com application. Integrate Prospect Portfolio with Salesforce.com Sign-on page for Prospect Portfolio 1. You will subscribe to Prospect Portfolio through your LexisNexis account, just as you would for a standalone sale. 2. Provide your LexisNexis representative with your SALESFORCE.COM ORG ID (it s an 18-digit code). This information allows our system to recognize the subscribers from your company, so that they don t have to authenticate twice for Salesforce.com and for Prospect Portfolio. If your company has multiple ORG IDs, LexisNexis will need to capture all of them. 3. When your order has been fulfilled, simply go to: https://www.salesforce.com/us/appexchange/detail_overview.jsp?id=a 0330000004lxrzAAA and click Get it Now. 4. Fill in your name and click Next. That s all there is to it! A single sign-on logs you into both Salesforce.com and your Prospect Portfolio account. 4
LexisNexis Prospect Portfolio Tabs Added to Salesforce.com Your LexisNexis Prospect Portfolio will embed up to four new tabs in your Salesforce.com application: LexisNexis Create a List create company and executive lists based upon criteria you select, derived from our database of over 43 million companies and 58 million executives that can be downloaded into Excel or directly to your Leads Records database on Salesforce.com. LexisNexis Learn More Research specific companies, industries or executives. LexisNexis History and Alerts Save favorite searches and create alerts so you can stay in the know with breaking news on clients and prospects. LexisNexis Recent News is an optional search module that allows you to create your own news searches. Custom Links Embedded in Account Records Prospect Portfolio embeds 3 custom links into each of your account records to call out for the most current business information available. 5
If you have integrated Prospect Portfolio into your Salesforce.com application, you will see a Custom Link Field at the bottom of each individual account record, with the following selections: 1. Update Account Detail Add LexisNexis account details to your company record, including name, address, type (public or private), SIC/Industry, web site, ownership (public or private), phone and fax 2. Update Contacts link to a list of contacts for this company 3. Learn More - link to a company profile for this company Update Account Detail Custom Link Prospect Portfolio will provide a list of your current Account Details as well as the LexisNexis Prospect Portfolio detail available for the account. Use the checkboxes on the left to add the LexisNexis data or override your own. After selecting Update Now details, the Account Record is populated with accurate and current account detail. 6
Update Contacts Custom Link To retrieve a list of current executives for your account, use the Update Contacts Custom Link. Use the checkbox on the left to add selected executives to add to your account record or Select All to retrieve all available records. Learn More Custom Link Selecting the Learn More Custom Link will retrieve a company profile for the account record. These company reports provide most recent company overview, financials, parent/subsidiary relationships, legal information, competitive data and more. When you select this link, LexisNexis Prospect Portfolio returns the three most likely matches and retrieves the report when you select the correct one. If you don t see the company you are looking for in the initial result set of three, you can use the View All button to a complete list of all companies who may be a potential match with your account record. 7
Prospect Portfolio Functionality This section describes Prospect Portfolio functionality that is available to all customers, whether accessing Prospect Portfolio as a stand-alone application or via Salesforce.com. LexisNexis Create a List - Company The LexisNexis Create a List tab allows you to create on-point target lists, based on the criteria you select. You can create either a list of companies or a list of executives. Select the Company radio button to display the form used to enter your criteria for generating a list of companies. Available criteria includes: company type, (public or private), headquarters only, revenue, number of employees, company name (if you were looking for a list of all Walmarts, for instance), and various location-based criteria. 8
You can also search by SIC code and NAICS codes to find specific industries at the bottom of this form, either by entering the code in the field provided or using the SIC or NACIs lookup tool links provided to the right of each of these fields. Select your criteria and click the Create Button. With the SIC and NACIS Lookup Tools, you can browse for particular industries or enter keywords. Select OK and your selections will populate the Create a Company List form. 9
See how many companies your search has generated. After entering your criteria and selecting the Create button, a preview of your results is provided. Select the hyperlink to open any of the sample companies. Upon previewing, you can select Edit Search link to fine tune your search, if desired. When you are satisfied with your search, select the red Next Customize List button at the top right side of your screen. Customize Your Company Screen List allows you to customize the elements included in your company list. From here, you can also determine the sort order of the results from the pull-down list at the bottom of the screen. Next, click the red Update Company List at the bottom of your screen. 10
Your results are returned and you can either download all of them or select which ones to download using the checkboxes on the left. From the links on top, you have the have the opportunity to edit your search again prior to downloading, start over with the new search or edit your customized results. The Save Search allows you to save your search as a template for your future searches. Upon selecting companies to download, select Download List to continue. From the Download List area, you can download your results to a spreadsheet or if Prospect Portfolio is integrated with your Salesforce.com application, you can import your results directly to my list of Salesforce.com Leads. LexisNexis Create a List - People From the Create a List tab, select the Create a List People radio button to create lists of executives based upon company criteria and their job function. Specialty would be an area like Human Resources, while function relates to the level of seniority, e.g., Director, C-Level, etc. 11
Create a List of People form with Specialty pull-down selected. The functionality is similar to Create a list of Companies with fields for you to enter to specify your criteria. Like the Company List, the Executive List will also provide you with a preview. 12
Next, customize your results by selecting the elements you wish to include. Download all of your results or select the names you wish to include prior to downloading. When you have made your sections, select the red Download Selected Items button at the top of the screen to continue. Many of the names you ll find on in your Executive Lists now contain difficultto-get emails and direct phone numbers for the contact names from Jigsaw, a leading contact database provider. And like the Company Lists, you can also download the list of names to either an Excel spreadsheet or directly to your leads database in Salesforce.com as a new lead record. 13
Learn More Company The Learn More Tab allows you to research a specific company, person or industry. Enter the name of the company, a ticker symbol, DUNs number or any other criteria and click Find to view a Company profile. Company Profiles Through the Learn More Tab, you ll have access to comprehensive profiles on 43 million private and public companies including company overviews, key financials, family trees, analyst reports, cases, intellectual property, current business news from 16,000+ leading news providers, and more. Sources and load date are clearly displayed and you can easily navigate to the full document by clicking the source. You can also add documents to the print/email/download delivery cart by checking the little green box to the left of the name of the source. All the documents you select will then be compiled. Download options include the ability to create a PDF report, complete with an auto generated table of contents with hyperlink navigation 14
Snapshot: View a convenient, at-a-glance overview of the company The In The News link gives you access to articles and publications where the company appears articles about your company that can be sorted by publication date or by relevance; Top Publications major newspapers, magazines, transcripts and legal publications; Topic news categorized by business activity, corporate structure, financial, legal, marketing and product; Region United States, Americas (excluding the U.S.), Asia and the Pacific Rim, Europe and the Middle East & Africa Find corporate affiliations (parent/subsidiary relationships) from the Directory of Corporate Affiliations View financial, competitive and stock information, mergers & acquisitions, research and analyst reports, and other company reports provided by the most prestigious names in business information, including Standard & Poor s and Disclosure Online Database Find recent U.S. case law, Commonwealth case law, Mealey s Reports, Martindale-Hubbell outside counsel and LexisNexis CourtLink strategic profiles See domestic and foreign patents, recent state, federal and international trademarks, and recent U.S. copyrights View competitive positioning, research and analyst reports, corporate financials and mergers & acquisitions Browse detailed financial and government reports* Dig deeper with Dun gateway transactional access to Dun & Bradstreet Business Reports 15
Learn More Person In the Learn More About a Person module, you can research an executive against executive-specific sources with a single search. Reports on more than 58 million executives are available. To learn more about a person, enter relevant criteria in the Learn More About a Person field, select your sources, and select the Find button. Sources include Executive Profile information, News, Negative News, SEC Filings, Congressional Testimony, and Case information. Executive Report Executive reports provide the following information in each report: Executive Profiles and Compensation information News from over 20,000 sources classified by general and negative SEC Filings Congressional Testimony sources Case law 16
Learn More Industry Research a specific industry in the Learn More area to retrieve information on over 1,200 industries with a single search. You can enter key words or SIC codes to find the industry. The SIC look-up tool helps you find SIC codes via browsing or search. SIC Code Lookup Tool: To find information on the Shipping industry, you can either browse the hierarchy or enter the key word shipping. Once you have selected a category, click OK and the SIC code(s) will populate the search. 17
Industry Profiles Snapshot: Concise industry overview that can include current news, top companies by sales, ratio components, and market performance indicators Datamonitor Reports: Industry Reports by country include competitive landscape, leading companies, even forecast value Mergers: Find information about the top mergers (by price offered) Legislative Information: Browse recent U.S. Congressional bills that pertain to the industry Industry Revenue (Integra): View a detailed industry balance sheet Economic Census: Full-text and statistical data on this industry History and Alerts 18
The History page lists all reports you have accessed within the last 30 days. Click a report link to view the report Save Search: Click this link to save your search so you can run it again in the future. When you save a search, you can access it again from the Tip: When you save a search, you can also choose to place a link to it on your Home page, which allows you to re-run it as soon as you sign in to Prospect Portfolio. Alerts: Review your history to continue a previous search. Or, use saved searches and alerts to stay informed about the companies and people that matter to you. Recent News For those times when you want to research specific topics in the news, this optional module provides you with quick and easy access to the LexisNexis vast database of over 16,000 news sources directly from the Prospect Portfolio interface. Recent News feature on Prospect Portfolio allows you to run searches of recent news based on your own search terms. 19
