TFA Laptop Printing - Windows With Print Anywhere Laptop Printing, print from your personal computer to any Print Anywhere device on campus. When a print job is sent from your laptop it will remain in the print queue for two hours and can be released by using the card swipe to log in. Five Step Setup Step 1 - Remove Existing Print Anywhere Printers Skip this step if this is your first time installing a Print Anywhere printer on this computer a) Select Start then Devices and Printers Click the Windows Start button on your taskbar and navigate to Devices and Printers b) Right-click Print Anywhere and Remove Device Locate any Printer Anywhere printers in the list of Printers and Faxes. Right click on them and select Remove Device from the list of options. Select Yes to confirm that you would like to remove the printer. The printer may be named Canon Generic PCL6 Driver if you did not change the name. Step 2 - Enable Windows LPR Printing a) Select Start then Control Panel Click the Windows Start button and navigate to the Control Panel b) Click Programs and Features Navigate to Programs and Features this may be hidden under the Programs category c) Click Turn Windows features on or off In the Programs and Features window, select Turn Windows features on or off opening a new window d) Select the + in front of Print and Document Services and check LPR Port Monitor then hit OK In the Windows Features window, click the + sign in front of Print and Document Services to open a list of features under this category. Check the box in front of LPR Port Monitor and then hit OK
Step 3 - Manually Add the Print Anywhere LPR Port a) Click Start then Devices and Printers Click the Windows Start button on your taskbar and navigate to Devices and Printers b) Select any existing printer and click Print Server Properties Select any one of your existing printers from the list of devices under Printers and Faxes. Then choose Print Server Properties along the top of the Devices and Printers window. c) Navigate to the Ports tab and confirm that ports named uniflowrps.asurite.ad.asu.edu are deleted Your laptop may not have these ports if this is your first time installing a Print Anywhere printer In the Print Server Properties window, move to the Ports tab. Scroll down the list of ports on this server and find any ports that start with uniflow. Highlight them and select Delete Port. Select OK to confirm that you would like to remove these ports.
d) Click Add Port then highlight LPR Port and select New Port In the Print Server Properties window select Add Port. The Printer Ports window appears, here highlight LPR Port and then select New Port. e) Type in the correct port information below depending on what campus you do a majority of your printing on. Then select OK and Windows will create the port with no confirmation. Close the Printer Ports window and check to see that the port has been added to your list of Ports on this server. This step should be completed while on the ASU Network Tempe Campus UniflowRPS1.ASURITE.AD.ASU.edu InputWinUD1 Polytechnic, West, and Downtown Campuses UniflowRPS2.ASURITE.AD.ASU.edu InputWinUD2
Step 4 - Download and Install the Print Anywhere Printer Driver a) Visit printcpc.com/print-anywhere-laptop and download the ASU Print Anywhere Setup Driver This is the official website for Canon print services at ASU. Visit this page for the most up to date Print Anywhere information and guides. b) Double-click to run the ASUPrintAnywhereSetup.exe file when the download has completed Virus software may alert you that this is an unknown file, but please allow it to run. The driver install package has been tested by Canon to work specifically for the Print Anywhere system at ASU and is safe to use. c) Choose your language and select Next d) Select Next again when prompted e) Accept the License Agreement and select Next f) Choose what campus you do a majority of your printing from and select Next Choose Tempe if you print mainly from Tempe campus or choose Other if you print mainly from Polytechnic, West, or Downtown then select Next g) Use the drop down to find the LPR port you added in Step 3 then select Next The port should be named UniflowRPS1.ASURITE.AD.ASU.edu if you do a majority of your printing on Tempe campus or UniflowRPS2.ASURITE.AD.ASU.edu if you do a majority of you printing on a different campus. If you do not have one of these ports please repeat Step 3. After you have selected the correct port click Next h) Click Install then Finish The Print Anywhere install package is now configured; click Install and the setup will run. After it completes select Finish to close the installer.
Step 5 - Setup the Driver with your ASURITE Login a) Select Start then Devices and Printers Click the Windows Start button on your task bar and navigate to Devices and Printers b) Right-click the ASU Print Anywhere printer, and select Printer Properties to rename to TFA Print Anywhere 2014 Right-click this printer and choose Printer Properties then rename it to TFA Print Anywhere 2014 c) After, navigate to the Advanced tab In the ASU Print Anywhere Properties window find the Advanced tab d) Select Printing Defaults to open a new window and then click the Output Options tab e) Type in your ASURITE UserID in the User Name field then press OK and Ok again Please note that you must be on the ASU Network to view the Output Options tab Type your ASURITE UserID into the User Name field. An ASURITE UserID is the same login you use to sign into a computer on campus. Select OK on the ASU Print Anywhere Printing Defaults page and then OK again on the ASU Print Anywhere Properties window to save your login information. You re finished! Now send your print jobs to the TFA Print Anywhere 2014 printer on your laptop and they will show up on campus! Remember you will only have 2 hours to print them from your Print Anywhere queue before documents disappear.
