The First Steps- Logging In Secure Login User ID > Password > Login On our homepage (upper right hand corner), enter User ID and password, then click Login. You will be immediately taken to your Account Management Page. You may customize your account by changing your log in settings under the Profile tab. Just below the navigation tabs you will find access to funding your acount. You will also be able to Launch Trading. Note: If you have multiple accounts, select the account you wish to trade from the Account To Trade drop down menu. Scroll down further to access My Accounts. Here you ll find all the information on your live accounts, as well as your Paper Trading account. 5
Funding Your Account It s Easy to Fund your New Account > Funding Method > Next Funding your account is easy. Just click on the Funding tab or on the Fund Your Account button on your Account Management Page. You ll be taken to the Deposit and Withdrawals page. Fund your account with any of these five easy options: Transferring an existing account is the most popular way to fund an account. Set up a transfer on the Deposit and Withdrawals page. 1. Make sure the correct Account number is selected. 2. Set the Deposit or Withdrawal dropdown to Deposit. 3. Select Transfer for Funding Method. Wire Funds In - This is the fastest and most secure way to fund your account. Send a Check - Write and mail a check for deposit. Transfer - Transfer an existing account or accounts (including a 401k) from another brokerage, initiated by your plan admin. Deposit Certificate - Deposit stock certificates you own into your account. ACH - Link to a bank account to fund your trademonster account ($10K/day limit on deposits). 4. Select Transfer Assets In for Type of Transfer. *Important Note - You don t need to contact your current broker after you send in this form, we ll take care of the entire transfer process! **401k rollover is initiated by contacting your plan admin. 5. Click the Next button and an external transfer form will appear. Fill out, print and send the form to the following address with a copy of your most recent statement for the account you are transferring. Start Trading Launch Trading > Application Window On the Account Management page, select the Launch Trading button. or from any page on the site click the Launch Trading icon above the tabs. The Trading Application window appears... 7
Help Center Access the Help and Learning Center from the question mark icon near the top right of every screen, and also from most action screens. The Help and Learning Center features a Glossary, How To s, Live Help and allows you to: Take a two minute guided tour. Explore starter guides customized for beginner to advanced traders. Free Education - Click on the education tab on the website to sign up for a free webinar. Live Help - Click on the Live Help link to chat directly with a helpful customer service rep. Watch over twelve instructional videos. Access a virtual library covering option trading topics from basics to advanced strategies. 8
User Configuration Unlike any other browser-based broker you can customize your trading application the way you like it! Click the configuration icon at the top right of the screen to change User Config settings: Trade Quantities- Set the default number of shares you d like to appear for your orders. Screen Configuration Click on the icon at the top right side of the screen to change your layout preferences Pop-Up Confirmations- Allow Order Confirmation, Order Filled, and Order Rejected pop-ups. Themes- Set your screen to black or white. Alerts- Keep an eye on your favorite securities. Set Alerts to pop-up, be emailed to you, or both. External Access- Automatically post what you re trading to Twitter. Position Settings- View the legs as part of a strategy, or individually. 9
Overview- Tabs Trading > Quote / Chart / Options / Buy / Sell Markets > Marketview / Watchlist / News / Fund Center Account > Orders / Positions /Messages /Summary / Performance / History Trading Tab QUOTE- One-click access to security specific market depth, time and sales, news, fundamentals, a quick chart and implied volatility information. CHART- User-friendly, customizable charting capabilities. OPTIONS- Customizable options chain with click-to-trade capabilities including spread creation. BUY/SELL- Allows you to enter a stock, option,etf or mutual fund symbol and place orders. Markets Tab MARKETVIEW- A watchlist populated by closely followed equity and fixed income indexes. WATCHLIST- A customizable list of securities. NEWS- Find headline news stories or search for stories by symbol as well as options news from our friends at optionmonster FUND CENTER- A list of mutual funds and ETFs available, as well as research and screening tools. Account Tab ORDERS- Open and filled orders for a specified time frame; today only or 3-day, 5-day, and 10-day history. POSITIONS- All open positions as well as the Portfolio Analysis feature. MESSAGES- Summary of order and execution messages. SUMMARY- Vital account information summary including info on items such as stock and option values, cash and margin details, as well as a graphical representation of holdings by asset class or symbol. PERFORMANCE- Graph showing interday, month-to-date, year-to-date or since inception performance by either asset class or symbol. HISTORY- Ability to sort account activity by type of action taken, symbol, and time frame. 10
Easily Create a Watchlist Market Tab > Watchlist > Menu > Add Watchlist Track your favorite Stocks, ETFs and of course Options! Setting up your Watchlist takes just four easy steps: 1. Click on the Market tab and select Watchlist. Watchlists: Edit, Add, Delete, Export, and Create PDF s 2. Click on the Menu button at the upper right corner of the Watchlist screen and select Add Watchlist. Menu > Edit Watchlist- Change the Watchlist name, delete/add symbols or change the order in which they appear. Select Columns- Select which columns will appear in the Watchlist window. 3. Type a new title in the NEW WATCHLIST box (example: my list) Click the Done button. Add Watchlist- Create and name a new Watchlist. Delete Watchlist- Delete an existing Watchlist. Export- Export Watchlist to an Excel CSV file. 4. Add a symbol at the box at the lower left of the screen and click the Add button. Create/Print PDF- Create a printable PDF version of your Watchlist. Help- Opens a Watchlist Main Section Overview page via the Help & Learning Center. 11
Order Entry from your Custom Watchlist Watchlist > Ticker Symbol > Buy / Sell Click on any stock, ETF or Mutual Fund symbol in your Watchlist and a Trading Action window appears. See the stock s trading activity data for the current day. Get quick access to multiple functions: delete symbol from watchlist, set alert, get quote, simulate trades, chart symbol find options and Buy, Sell and Create Spreads. Place stock, ETF or Mutual Fund trades and access option chains and the Create Spreads feature window Click on the icon at the top right side of the screen to change your specific layout preferences. Use the Simulate Button to add a hypothetical position to your portfolio. This feature allows you to see how your portfolio would be impacted by your chosen security- without putting money on the line. To see simulated positions, go to Positions View and click Show Simulations. 12
Fast and Accurate Order Placement Trading Action Window > Buy /Sell Click Buy or Sell from the Trading Action window. Customize Your Order Use drop down arrows to adjust limit or select price and type in your Limit Price. Use the Trade Automation options to place the trade when the underlying meets the criteria set by you. Use Time in Force to set an expiration on your order, or to select a specific time to occur. After choosing your execution parameters from the drop down tabs, then click Confirm. Use the Special Handling drop down to determine if you d like your trade to occur only if your order will be completely filled (AON- All or None), or if you d like the flexibility on price and time of execution (NH- Not Held). 13
The Order Confirmation window appears where you can re-confirm details prior to SEND. Your order will either be Filled or will be Open (i.e. working ). You will be able to see your position either by going to Account > Positions or in the Mini Positions view at the left side of your screen. 14
Find an Option Chain. Execute Option Orders. Trading Action Window > Options From the Trading Action window click on the Options icon to access an option chain Customizable Option Chains Calls are shown on the left, puts are shown on the right. Click the Menu in the upper right hand corner of your screen to add or remove columns. Look at multiple months strike prices by clicking another month. View more information on quotes, time and sales, depth view, risk profile and Greeks, by clicking the + signs. Access option chains from the Trading drop-down > Options. Click an individual option on the option chain screen and a Trading Action window appears for that option. 15
Click Buy to bring up an Order Entry Ticket. Click the Analyze button at the bottom of the order ticket to get a snapshot analysis of a potential trade. Maximum profit, maximum loss, risk profile and more. Click the Spectral Analysis tab for more detailed data. After you have chosen your execution parameters from the drop down tabs click Confirm. Next an Order Confirmation window appears. Confirm details prior to clicking Send. Curious about spectral analysis? Click the icon at the top right of the screen to access our Spectral Analysis video. Your order will either be Filled or will be Open (i.e. working ). 16
Create and Execute Option Spreads Trading Action Window > Create Spread Learn More About Option Strategies Click the icon and select Education > Trading Education > Strategies. From the Trading Action window click Spread button for a Select Type of Spread window. 17
Click an option spread type and a Trading Action window appears. Click Buy for an Order Entry Ticket. After you have chosen your execution parameters from the drop down tabs and are ready to place the trade then click Confirm. 18
The Order Confirmation window appears. Confirm details then click Send. Your order may be Filled or Open, depending on the market condition. If your order is filled the details of the execution will appear in an Order Fill pop-up box. Check the details of the trade, and click OK to close the pop-up. 19
Viewing Open Orders Account > Orders If an order was NOT FILLED take the following steps in the Trading Application or the Mini window, place the cursor on the Account tab dropdown and then click ORDERS. This will bring you to your ORDERS page which will display all orders for Options, Stocks, ETF s or Mutual Funds that you are currently working. Below is an example of how orders will appear on the ORDERS page designated by the Open status. Customize and filter your orders by date or order status: open, queued, saved, filled or other. 20
Cancel / Modify / Hold / Copy Open Orders Account > Orders > Open Orders Place the cursor on the Account tab then click ORDERS. You will be taken to your order history. Click an open order to access the Order Action screen. CANCEL- Sends a request to cancel the order immediately; NO CONFIRM. MODIFY- To modify the order; CONFIRM REQUIRED. HOLD- Send a request to cancel the current open order and place it on hold. COPY- To create a copy of the order; CONFIRM REQUIRED. Example: Change an order designated as LIMIT to MARKET. Click the Modify button. 21
Select MARKET. Verify the terms of the modified order and then SEND when ready. The order will now be modified and sent as a request for a market order. 22
Viewing Account Summary Account > Summary From the Trading Application window, take the following steps Place the cursor on the Account tab and then click SUMMARY. Your SUMMARY page now appears showing account specific information, corresponding dollar balances, and a graph showing holdings percentages, sorted by Asset Class or Symbol. * If there are any margin related issues, the calls will be listed under Net Outstanding Calls. 23
Find and View Portfolio Performance Account > Performance From the Trading Application window take the following steps Place the cursor on the Account tab and then click PERFORMANCE. Your PERFORMANCE page now appears showing account specific history with the ability to view market gain/loss info by Symbol and Time. *Export a Trade Data Report as a spreadsheet for tax purposes. Symbol- Click to view profit and loss by Symbol or Asset Class. Time- To specify the Time Range. 24
Find and View Account History Account > History From the Trading Application window take the following steps Place the cursor on the Account tab and select HISTORY. Type- View all transaction types or select a particular type. Your HISTORY page appears showing account specific history with the ability to sort by: Type, Symbol and Time. Symbol- View all or custom symbols of choice. Time- Select the time frame you wish to view.
