ZyXEL 2602HWL 2. Vshaped cable - Green cable (lifeline) and Gray cable (DSL) note: you need to use double adapter to connect to phone socket with a filter on the green cable. 3. RJ-11 Cable 4. Standard PSTN Telephone 5. Network Card for connection to your PC (not supplied by TPG) 6. Ethernet Cable (blue) for connection to a PC or Hub 7. AC power supply adaptor 8. Micro Filter 1.2 Please follow the setup diagram above. Please keep in mind that it is necessary to have a micro filter for each device plugged into a telephone wall socket that is on the same service number as your ADSL (eg: telephone/answering machine/fax/paytv). 2.4 On the Local Area Connection Status window click on Properties. 2.6 (a) On the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window click on Obtain an IP address automatically. (b) On the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window click on Obtain DNS Service addresses automatically. (c) Click OK to save the settings. 2.5 (a) On the Local Area Connection Properties window click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). (b) Click Properties. 3. 0 Setup Wireless After you have install your wireless network adapter, you need to run Wireless Network Installation Wizard (Control Panel - Network Connection). Please refer to manufacture regarding Installation. 3.1 Choose Setup My Wireless Connection. Page 2 of 6
3.2 Wireless Network Setup Wizard, click on Next 3.5 Click on Set up a network Manually, Next 3.3 Click on Set up a new wireless network, then next 3.6 The wizard is completed, click finish 3.4 Type Network Name (SSID) and select automatically assign a network key 3.7 You will see Wireless Network Connection window, please wait until the connection is complete. 3.8 Close the Wireless connection window. 3.11 Click on Wireless. 3.9 Login into your modem, open Internet Explorer, type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar press enter, type admin as your password and then click Login. 3.12 From WEP Encryption drop down box choose 64bit. In the key1 text box choose and type the key. (You will have to read the notes to make your decision). 3.10 Click on Wireless LAN (under Advanced Setup). Page 4 of 6
3.13 You will not be able to access configuration page until you refresh your wireless network and connect again. 5. 0 Change ADSL Password 5.1 For security purposes we highly recommend you to change your password. Go to the following link to change your password: https://cyberstore.tpg.com.au/your_account/changepass.html Activation of your new password will take approx.15 minutes. NOTE: we will now be logging into ZyXEL router. 5.2 Browse to 192.168.1.1. 5.3 Enter admin into the password field. (TPG ZyXEL default password admin ). 5.4 Click on Login. 4. 0 Test VoIP Account Please check the call rates displayed on TPG website (http:// www.tpg.com.au/voip/callrates.php ) before dialling. 4.1 To call a destination listed in TPG Metro Calling Zone or TPG Regional Calling Zone: Dial the 2-digit area code (02,03,07,08) and then the 8-digit local phone number. Please note even if you are calling a local number, area code is still required. For example: to call telephone number 9999 9999 in Sydney, dial 02 9999 9999 5.5 Click on WAN, underneath the Advanced Setup menu. 4.2 To call a destination outside of TPG Metro Calling Zone or TPG Regional Calling Zone: Dial 001161, 1-digit area code (2,3,7,8) and then the 8-digit local phone number. For example: to call telephone number 9999 9999 in Armidale, dial 001161 2 9999 9999. Please always delete the leading 0 from the area code when calling this way. 4.3 To call a mobile phone within Australia: Dial the 10-digit mobile phone number directly. For example: to call mobile number 0422 999 999 in Australia, dial 0422 999 999. 4.4 To call an internatal destination: Dial 0011, the country code, the area code and then the local phone number. For example: to call telephone number 9999 9999 in London, dial 0011 4420 9999 9999. 5.6 Click on WAN Setup, underneath the WAN Functions heading. LifeLine Options Lifeline allows you to use VoIP phone service and PSTN phone service through the ZyXEL 2602HWL. - You can receive incoming PSTN phone calls. - You can make outgoing PSTN phone calls by dialing a prefix * then wait 5 seconds, the phone will then switch from VoIP to PSTN. - You can still make PSTN phone calls if the ZyXEL 2602HWL loses power. 5.7 In the Password, underneath the Login Information heading, type your new TPG Password. 5.8.1 Click on the Apply button, at the bottom of the screen. 5.11 In the SIP Number textbox, beneath the SIP Settings heading, type the TPG Username. 5.12 In the User-ID textbox, beneath the Authentication heading, type the TPG Username. 5.13 In the password textbox, beneath the Authentication heading, type the TPG Users Password. 5.14 Click the Apply button. 5.8.2 Click on the Main Menu button on the left hand side 5.9 Click on Voice, underneath the Advance Setup menu. 5.15 Click on Logout, on the left hand menu. 5.10 Click on SIP Setting, beneath the Voice - Voice Functions heading.
