Reliability for EVery voyage. JEPPESEN A BOEING COMPANY

From Information to Innovation Since the earliest ventures to sea, mariners have looked to the stars and horizon to navigate. Today, the connection between sky and sea continues as Jeppesen, the world s leader in aviation navigation, brings its expertise and capability to maritime navigation and operational information management. A Legacy of Safety, Efficiency AND Leadership Backed by the expertise and resources of The Boeing Company, Jeppesen integrates navigational, operational and logistics information to deliver innovative solutions to maritime, aviation and railway operators worldwide. Seventy-five years of experience and a tradition of challenging the status quo has helped us revolutionize the mapping and information industry. As the sole owner of the world s most comprehensive global information database, Jeppesen is the preferred provider of information solutions and data for today s most advanced navigation systems and optimization solutions. With efficiency and safety as pillars of our company, Jeppesen Marine provides a full range of advanced products and services trusted by commercial and leisure marine customers alike. Each and every Jeppesen Marine product can be upgraded or updated quickly and easily, giving every mariner what they want confidence in their charts and data. Areas of Expertise Commercial Navigation Commercial Operations Maritime Industry Leadership Light Marine

Commercial Navigation Charts and services to safely move people and assets. In cooperation with national Hydrographic Offices worldwide, and with the support of ECDIS and ECS systems manufacturers, Jeppesen Marine sets the standard for products and services designed for commercial navigation on the high seas. ECDIS SERVICE Commercial mariners rely on Jeppesen Marine navigation solutions day in and day out. The C-Map Professional+ and C-Map ENC provide a dual fuel solution of worldwide vector chart coverage so subscribers have a trustworthy, cost-effective and user-friendly way to constantly update their data. The unique C-Map CM-93/3 SENC (System ENC) distribution format ensures the most efficient and secure distribution of electronic charts. C-Map ENC data issued by the National Hydrographic Offices and the vector data of C-Map Professional+ are both distributed in the CM-93/3 format. The result is ultra-simple installation and updating of ECDIS chart databases. UPDATE SERVICES The C-Map Update Service provides the latest weather and navigational data at all times. New chart updates are posted on the C-Map update server every working day, while weather forecasts are loaded several times a day. In addition to Notices to Mariners, chart updates also include all new and modified charts. C-MAP WEATHER SERVICE The C-Map Weather Service offers real-time, international weather forecasting for conditions at sea storms, ice fronts and more. Flexible passage planning allows mariners to make voyage decisions based on the very latest information. WORKBOAT NAVIGATOR Challenging inland and coastal waters require the latest specialized information. As the premier navigation resource for these environments, Workboat Navigator gives workboat captains all the tools they could need. Combining advanced navigation technology with proven charting delivers a solution that improves decision-making, safety and efficiency.

Commercial Operations Improving a vessel s economic performance while reducing its environmental impact. Voyage and Vessel Optimization Services Jeppesen Marine Voyage and Vessel Optimization Services (VVOS) uses the latest in Boeing R&D expertise to improve ship operation efficiency and safety. Benefits include dramatically less fuel consumption, improved ETA predictability, a reduced carbon footprint and safer passage seakeeping. VVOS combines a variety of measurements, calculations and consulting services to create an increased ROI that goes far beyond simple fuel efficiency, Key components include the ability to: Build baseline performance models Normalize external environmental conditions via post voyage simulation Monitor key performance parameters Detect degradations in hull, propeller and engine performance Determine optimal passage strategy to minimize fuel expenditure and assure schedule integrity Identify causes of problems and recommend changes based on ROI VVOS also integrates the latest ocean forecasts for efficient routing, propulsion and power management, and it provides a ship-specific profile that includes complete resistance, propulsion and seakeeping models. Marine Pilotage Charts Drawing from years of aviation experience, Jeppesen Marine created MPC or Marine Pilotage Charts. This was necessary as no standardized format or offering had addressed these procedural aspects of operation before. Similar to aviation s approach procedures, MPC is a tailored chart service that uses easy-to-read graphics to show procedures, standards, procedure design, human factors, production tools, printing and distribution capabilities. MPCs give the commercial marine operator a procedural chart tailored to the company s needs. The charts are created in a consistent, easy-to-use format that improves safety, efficiency and consistency of communication through critical phases of arrival and departure from ports. Jeppesen Marine partners with hydrographic offices, port authorities, pilot authorities and individual shipping companies to create MPC charts that meet the individual needs of various operators. Each MPC can incorporate company-specific operating recommendations and may also be developed to meet the general needs of mariners navigating through certain waters. Through VVOS, ship owners receive optimized pre-departure and daily passage updates on each vessel. At quarterly service reviews, Jeppesen Marine will present the fleet s VVOS performance metrics report to clearly demonstrate actual passage benefits.

MARITIME INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP Every day, Jeppesen Marine embraces the industry s passion to continually improve safety and efficiency and focus on a cleaner environment. TOOLS a n d SE R V ICES Jeppesen Marine supports the hydrographic community with tools and services aimed at improving the process of information creation and updating. The dkart Office suite of software solutions is in use by more than 70% of the world s Hydrographic Offices, and we are contracted by many HOs to help build ENCs and other official content.

The Jeppesen Legacy In the air. On the water. Over land. Elrey Jeppesen, a true aviation pioneer, spent several years barnstorming, providing flight instruction, wing walking and conducting aerial surveys. In 1930 he signed up for the highest-paying but most dangerous route in the airmail business. In those days, there were no aeronautical charts, so pilots used road maps and followed railroad tracks for navigation. This blind flying bothered Jeppesen, and after suffering the loss of many of his fellow pilots he started a handwritten project that changed the future of worldwide navigation. Captain Jeppesen s solution for safer flying was a small, black notebook. In it he profiled airport layouts, field lengths and obstacles. He even collected phone numbers of local farmers who could provide lastminute weather reports. Other pilots learned of Jeppesen s little black book and asked for a copy. As the requests flooded in, Jeppesen began offering copies for a small fee and the legacy of providing accurate charting for navigation was born. Today, the Jeppesen company helps mariners and pilots crisscross the globe safely thanks to detailed charts, carefully documented procedures and sophisticated navigational aids, all born from the desire of one navigator to help himself, and others, return home safely. Jeppesen is proud to have extended our capabilities from life in the sky to life on the sea. Our legacy of trust and reliability will help mariners of all types to conduct their travels confidently, efficiently and safely.
