2.0 Recommended Browser Settings PC users using Internet Explorer have a couple of browser settings to check. If you are a Mac user, the settings are already set. 2.1 Internet Explorer on a PC PC users must check some of their Internet Explorer browser s settings. The first step is to reset your browser settings to their default values. To do this, follow the steps below. Open up Internet Explorer. 1. Pull down the Tools menu at the top of the screen and choose: Internet Options 1 2. 7 7. If you no longer see your Menu Bar at the top of the page, you will likely find it on the far right side of the page. In that case, pull down the Tools menu, click on Toolbars and then Menu Bar. Doing so will put the Menu Bar back at the top of your Internet Explorer page. 8. Please note that the screen shots in this section are for Firefox on a PC, but the information also applies to Firefox on the Mac. The first step is to add a site to your Trusted sites. To begin, open up Firefox. 1. Now choose Tools > Options on a PC. Firefox > Preferences on a Mac. 2. When the Firefox Options window opens, click on the Security tab. 3. 3.0 All About the Cache 3.1 Internet Explorer on a PC: Which Version of I.E. Do I Have? To determine which version of Internet Explorer you have, first open up Internet Explorer. 1 1. From the menu bar, select: Help > About Internet Explorer. 2. Locate your Version number in the About Internet Explorer dialog box. 3.2 Clearing the Cache: Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10 (PC Users) Open up Internet Explorer. 1. From the menu bar, select: Tools > Internet Options. 2 1 2. When the Internet Options dialog box opens, click the button in the Browsing history section of the General tab. 6 3. When the Delete Browsing History dialog box opens, make sure that the checkboxes indicated in the screen shot to the right are checked. 4. In addition, ensure that the top checkbox, Preserve Favorites website data, is unchecked. 5. Then click the button, and wait for the deletion process to complete. 6. 3.3 Clearing the Cache: Internet Explorer 7 (PC Users) Open up Internet Explorer. 1. From the menu bar, select: Tools > Internet Options. 1 2. When the Internet Options dialog box opens, click. 3. 3.5 Clearing the Cache: Firefox (PC Only Not Necessary for Mac Users) If you are using the Firefox browser on a PC, from the menu bar, choose Tools > Clear Recent History. 1. When the dialog box opens, make sure that the Browsing & Download History, Cookies and Cache checkboxes are checked. It is up to you if you would like the other checkboxes to be checked. 2.
