agna Steyr 1 essage Definition 1.1 Principles The Despatch Advice essage intends to inform the recipient about the despatch of goods and provides the details regarding the content of the consignment. allow the recipient to track material shipments and to prepare the physical receipt of the consignment. A Despatch Advice essage can relate to different articles which even may be packed deviant (as instructed or agreed). articles from possibly different delivery instructions and/or stock status messages. The Despatch Advice essage must always include the transportation information (e.g., weight, means of transport, etc.) related to the notified delivery. The information transmitted in the Despatch Advice essage is vital to ensure an efficient receipt of the material at the receiving plant and whenever a consolidator is involved the Despatch Advice essage has to be combined with other messages. Therefore it is mandatory that the Despatch Advice essage will be transmitted immediately after the departure of the material. 1.2 References The content of this message is based on the message structure as defined by EDIFAT for the Despatch Advice essage DESADV as published in the UN/EDIFAT D.97A directory. the agreement between the trading partners on the data elements to be used, their unique definition, their representation and their values (coded or clear form) as identified in this document. although the ODETTE AVIEXP subset defined by EDIFAT has been based on the EDIFAT DESADV D96, the subset defined by SG and described in this document follows as close as possible the structure of the EDIFAT subset. 1.3 Field of Application The following definition of a Despatch Advice essage in EDIFAT format is applicable for the interchange of shipping instructions issued by agna Steyr (SG) for material deliveries to one or more SG operations. Whenever the type of packaging is the small parts plastic VDA container (KLT) three different occurrences of PA may be required. This depends on the circumstances, i.e., whether the containers are loaded on a pallet and whether a cover is used to protect the upper layer.
