INTRODUCTION This specification provides the definition of the Motor Insurance Policy message (IPPOMO) to be used in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between partners involved in administration, commerce and transport. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Functional Definition A motor insurance policy message is exchanged by insurers, intermediaries and clients to transfer details related to the proposal, adjustment, confirmation and renewal of a motor policy. 1.2 Field of Application This message can be applied for both national and international use. It is based on universal practice and is not restricted by specific business procedures. 1.3 Principles The IPPOMO message describes a single policy allowing for multiple vehicles, covers and drivers. It covers all classes of business pertaining to motor insurance, private or commercial. 2.
